Well, I dunno how sane & respectful McCain is: the only reason he got the nomination last time is he swung hard right after losing in 2000 (to some serious dirty tricks including rumormongering of miscegenation in South Carolina), and he's now out there bloviating about how we need to take a hard line with Iran.
WTF, people. We DO NOT WANT ANOTHER WAR. WTF.
I think Romney has a better chance of being elected, because he's not a terrifying ideologue like Santorum. But that also means he's less likely to get us all killed. On the other hand, his lack of ideologue-ness means the wingnut base won't vote for him, so he could still lose the nomination, despite all the money he's throwing at it.

Yeah, I mean sure compared to Bachman, Santorum and Gingrich, but that's damning with faint praise.
Consuela, I think that the key word in Matt's post was "relatively"
msbelle - I took Abilify on top of Celexa or Lexapro. At first it made me a little hypomanic, as in more productivity urge than I'd ever had before. I made envelopes from a calendar while visiting my grandparents, because I needed to do something. Ultimately and contrdictorily, it made me sleep a lot. As in, dozing off in front of my computer at work and more than once in one on one meetings with my supervisor. So there's some anecdata for you.
I know of at least two people who voted for Santorum in Ohio yesterday: one a really far lefty who thinks there's no way Santorum can win a national election, but thinks Romney might (and also finds sowing chaos hilarious), and one of my student workers who thinks Santorum is a wonderful guy because of his strong support of Israel. Which just goes to show you never know what makes an individual vote. In my district, which is upscale and politically mixed, the only people with signs I saw were supporting Santorum, so his grassroots is decent.
I think I'm grandfathered in by my dad's dual citizenship. I need to get my paperwork together, in case.
My grandfather was Canadian, but that's not enough to get me dual citizenship. I need to find someone to marry, just in case.
I'm not 100%, but I don't think marrying a Canadian helps you with immigration the same way it does for the US.
ND is grandfathered in as Canadian because of his parents like Plei. Don't know if that means we can easily run away to Canada if we need to, but he really wants to get his Canadian passport for ease when working in Europe.
I recall (and I can laugh about it now, it was not funny when it occurred), when GWB "won" reelection, Canada had to put up a new webpage detailing citizenship processes for US citizens wanting to move up north.
They had thousands of requests for information.
Thousands.
After that emotionally devastating reelection we were among the thousands looking at the options. DH's father was Canadian. I'd say I was over the 2 GWB terms, but it still stings. That is the only reason I can't wish for a complete idiot Republican candidate.
In fun election news, this year will be the first presidential election for both of my sons. I think I need to plan some kind of party.
