Our wings are not tired.

After that emotionally devastating reelection we were among the thousands looking at the options. DH's father was Canadian. I'd say I was over the 2 GWB terms, but it still stings. That is the only reason I can't wish for a complete idiot Republican candidate.

In fun election news, this year will be the first presidential election for both of my sons. I think I need to plan some kind of party.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I'm also in the "no nomination for Santorum" camp. Twice in my adult life, I've seen the Republicans field candidates that were considered "too far to the right" to win an election. Both of them ended up spending 8 years in the Oval Office.

Romney is less objectionable than Santorum. On the other hand, so is bubonic plague.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've recently been reminded of the most ridiculous gubernatorial election in Massachusetts, which was the result of "unenrolled" voters on both sites fucking with the other party's open primary.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm not 100%, but I don't think marrying a Canadian helps you with immigration the same way it does for the US.

How about Mexican? Or Brit? I need to plan this ahead of time.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Has this been posted yet?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Zenkitty,

right? I don't think Beau would be happy if I toss him over for a man from Belize.

Punishingly Intricate

Bob became a Canadian citizen when they opened a window where you could apply for citizenship if your mother was born there, and just your mother father didnt count. That window has since closed.

I dont know if this is still true but you used to be able to apply for Irish citizenship if you had a grandparent born there. So Steven would count, Amy, if that is still true.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My university president just sent out a scathing message about a professor of economics blog post supporting Rush Limbaugh and his position that women who want birth control paid for by insurance want to be paid to have sex.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

does the professor have his head up his ass? I thought the "paid for sex" claim is factually untrue.

Because books.

Yeah, both S.'s paternal grandparents were born and raised there, and came over as adults. My mom's, too, so it doesn't apply to me, but I could always tell my mom to apply if she was so inclined (not that I think she is).

I'm beginning to lean toward Fiji. No more winter! And we didn't even really have one this year.
