Goodnight, msbelle. Hope you get some spoon restorative rest.
Natter 69: Practically names itself.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Sleep well, and gather more spoons
I've become unfond of unusual nature patterns.
Last night was one giant tornado watch-warning-watch-warning, severe thunderstorm warning and flash flood warning. Television last night consisted solely of radar. After I started trying to sleep, every hour either the weather radio went off or the dog decided he had to go out in case the noise was something dangerous. That usually entailed his barking until I got up and opened the door. Then he saw the rain and came back in.
There's a swath of damage across Georgia, but so far no deaths have been reported.
I know someone in Huntsville AL, and they had a tornado yesterday (they had 6 total) that followed the track of the EF5 tornado they had in April 2011!
At a certain point, I would consider moving. I said at work yesterday, "I hate tornadoes" and all the students laughed at me ("nobody *likes* tornadoes!") but seriously. They're horrible because there's almost nothing you can do to be prepared.
I saw a report that a house that had just been rebuilt from the April tornadoes was hit again.
Six companies have dropped out from sponsoring Limbaugh. Six!
Awesome.
92 tornados today, across 10 states. Dang.
So incredibly not awesome.

This. Just hunker down and hope it passes you by. I don't even know what I'd do in this house - hop in the bathtub with the dog and my comforter. Not that I don't love my cats, but I'd bleed out trying to hold onto them.

Oh, god, how awful. All that stress and expense and effort, and it's gone again.
For reals! He could have a child he doesn't even know about!
Surgeon General's warning: eating while catching up in Natter may be hazardous to your health. Use caution when consuming food or beverage while reading.
JZ, that was a lovely homage to the records of the past. Thank you.
I will not mourn Fred Phelps when he passes. That is all.
Wishing you a extra-full complement of spoons, msbelle, and a less demanding day.
Timelies all!
Nova is in my lap. At least she's not trying to pull things down from my desk.

At that point, I'd move. Maybe someplace with blizzards. You can prepare for a blizzard.

It really was.
I just took the dog out for a walk, and saw a TURKEY. On my street!
Astonishing!
My next-door neighbor told me yesterday that they had seen a six-point buck wandering around their backyard. I was agog. Where has the huge creature been hiding?
