while burlesque dancers greased poles
How does one dance with a greased pole? I would have fallen right off.

'Serenity'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

They were on ladders. It's a ceremonial greasing, to keep people from climbing them. But you know, everything's a party here.
Yeah, that's at the start of Mardi Gras, right?
Fuck. I spoke to soon. The appraisal came in at 13,000 less than we needed it to. Not sure what this means yet.

Ah. Understood.
Oh, fuck, sj.
That bites, sj. I hope it's no big deal.
Lundi Gras, Nora.
sj,
here's hoping you can appeal or get your real estate agent to generate different comps.
Sj, if it had come in 13k less for me, I would have had to make that money up in cash OR work with the seller to lower her price. I really hope it works out for you.
Eta: just remembered that the closing costs were a lot more than what I had anticipated (I had misunderstood the original estimate) and I ended up negotiating with the mortgage co to add a quarter of a point to my rate to cover the rest. So I think you will definitely have options!
for both of my homes, I had to take out a 2nd mortgage, to get the main mortgage down to 20% of the sale price.
so yes, there are a lot of options.

Thanks. We forgot about that option. We're waiting for the bank to call us back.

We can afford to go up a bit, but we're hoping the seller will come down a bit as well. It probably means that updates like ramps are going to be put on hold. We'll work it out, but I'm not happy right now. We weren't expecting the appraisal to be this far off. Our real estate agent is shocked.
