Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
(Wait, how do we play the game? Go be productive and report back?)
A lot of times it's been taken it to email, but I don't know how necessary that is.
Here are my goals for the day: To declutter my desk and straighten up the area around it; to work on any of the three stories I've started writing on; sweep kitchen floor; clean the bathroom, including the floor; to do a load of laundry.
Daniel and I have already worked out in the yard for 45 min. but there is still plenty to do out there - we'll have to figure out exactly what we're going to accomplish after we have some lunch.
Go, all you productive people!
I'm happy to report the Meyer Lemon Pudding Cake is a huge success. I'm eating some right now AIFG,
I am so in need of productivity. Rain makes me sleepy.
Well, I weeded the front yard earlier, then we had to deal with a dude who was inspecting our roof for storm damage, and then I made a turkey burger with gouda and avocado.
Now that I am full of food, I am going to tackle the bathroom. Here I go!
(My reward may be carryout Indian for dinner. We'll see. Tim is at his dad's house and is probably eating dinner there. So.)
I stopped using Freecycle and Craigslist mostly due to not wanting to deal with flakes. I now donate EVERYTHING and definitely keep those receipts for taxes. I need the write-offs and when it comes to 50 things, I can't deal with the admin time around listing the items and dealing with people. This decision has saved my sanity.
java, thanks for the validation! I have "but I paid money for that!" syndrome and it's hard to convince myself that it's okay to just let it go without wringing every dime I could get out of it. My time and my sanity are valuable, too, right?
I'm happy to report the Meyer Lemon Pudding Cake is a huge success.
mmmm. Dammit. No cake for me. Not for a while, anyway.
So, I went back on a low-carb diet, because, really, WTF, just do it, Self. It's 3 days in and Mr. Scale rewarded me with a report of nearly 5 pounds lost. Now of course it won't continue at that pace, but that sure is motivating.
Okay! So far, I've Swiffered the stairs and gone to the grocery store. Must: do dishes, put away clean laundry, launder the bedclothes, clean the upstairs carpet, clean the litterboxes, and clear away some of this incoming-mail junk.
Ha - the Illinois is having SoCal weather and SoCal is having our weather.
I've had Matilda this morning.
So we went to breakfast at Zazie (she was well behaved and enjoyed her pancake and hot chocolate). Also she dressed herself while I was in the shower. Unprecedented!
But then we came back and Did Math for about an hour.
Then we took out all the trash, and she carried two bags of recycling down
and
her diaper pail bag. (She still wears a diaper for sleeping at night.)
When JZ gets home they'll go to see The Secret World of Arrietty.
So Math and Trash Removal would be our productivity so far today.
I cleaned my kitchen a bit, and baked soda bread. But mostly, I read Catching Fire, which was my plan for the weekend, though I don't think that it can really count as productivity.
Totally counts, you have to get that stuff done before the movie. There's a deadline, so it must be a task, right?
In all seriousness, though, I think it's important to put fun stuff on your todo list, because it makes me more likely to work the list.
Okay, good job, productivistas! And go you Zen on the weight loss! I am down to my lowest weight since November, which I'm counting as a win and hoping to keep the general trend going.
I hung the laundry and the yard is clear. I am now taking a juice break and then I guess I'll tackle the kennel? I'll really be much happier during the storm if it's reasonably clean, it will make dealing with the dog much easier.
I apparently really really don't want to deal with the recycling today. Which I think I'm just going to accept. It's so windy it's just difficult to wrangle, and it looks like I've tucked everything in enough to where I'm not creating any additional litter at this point. It's not necessary before the storm, so I think I'll just deal with it after.
It was going to be necessary before spring break (this week is spring break part I, next week is part II) because I was trying to talk the SO into going down to Sedona for a day, where we could drop off the glass and high number plastic. But with the weather there's no way that's happening, and I'm going to be housebound instead. He won't be, so he's going to go for his last bout of snow camping. More power to him, but I'm not going.
