Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Frank, I think you asked me a while back what town the new house is in, and I can't remember if I replied or not. It's in Holden, fwiw.

Also, near Worcester, I assume?

And Google maps shows me, yes, just a bit North of there.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

My doctor found that my thyroid was enlarged during a routine physical last week. I had an ultrasound done and I have a nodule on my thyroid

Speaking as someone who has gone through this, I can tell you that 95-99% of thyroid nodules are benign. I do suspect the next step for you will be a biopsy just to make sure. It's a fairly simple proceedure done with a long needle that they insert into the nodule and suck out some cells. They'll pull out cells from 3-4 places. My doc always sprayed a numbing agent on my neck so it didn't even really hurt. Just a pressure.

I'm surprised they sent you to an ENT. An endocrinologist is a thyroid specialist.

I'd be glad to answer any questions you have.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Congrats on the house, sj.

{{{GC}}} I hope it's nothing.

I'm really tired of the bad news concerning people I care about.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Thanks for the ~ma and reassurance. I'm sure it's all going to be fine - it's just nerve-wracking. I also have high cholesterol and need to wean the baby so I can start medication. Mama's getting old!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Also, near Worcester, I assume?

Yes. It's a little further away from the city than West Boylston but close enough that I can still do my errands in the city without it being a giant pain in the ass. We may have some sort of open house when we get settled in. Although it may be a "here's a margarita, want to help us unpack books?" style of party, depending on how quickly we get things done.

Plenty of nothing~ma to you, Glamcookie.

As I've said before, getting older means finding new ways your body can turn on you.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

As I've said before, getting older means finding new ways your body can turn on you.

I remember that I used to wake up in the morning and NOT be sore. WTF, man? When did all my parts turn on me? All I did was SLEEP!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Lots of benign nodule~ma, GC.

I'm so bored at work, right now. This job is either feast or famine, but the feast is more like them shoving all the food down your throat and not just having too much to choose from. But for now, there's only so many spreadsheets I can update, so many binders I can purge, so many drawers I can reorganize. I'm actually getting bored with fanfic because I have so much time to play.
