Total non sequiter, and I'm guessing some of the druggies (hee) on the board might have known this, but I found out today that warfarin is named after my university, indirectly. The 'warf' in warfarin stands for the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation and has a whole building dedicated to it on the west side of the campus.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Erin, you have email from me, too.
Has anyone here had an ear infection before? Is there is anything I can do, other than taking my antibiotics, that will help it clear up faster?
sj,
oral antibiotics or through the ear?
if your sinuses are involved, perhaps a neti pot might help. otherwise, just antibiotics.
oral antibiotics or through the ear?
Oral. I have been using my saline spray. Never got the hang of the neti pot. I wasn't sure if a warm compress on my ear would help loosen things up a bit? I'm really concerned about flying on Thursday night.
Lie on a heating pad (don't get too hot), point a low blow dryer at you ear. These can help ease the pressure. Um, I've had a lot of earaches and they make me cry.
Have you tried mucinex or any other sort of decongestant? It takes a couple of hours, but it works for me.
And if there's swelling, probably Advil (or its like), if you can take that with the antibiotic. Well, that won't help it go away, but should make it less painful. If there's swelling.
I'm taking advil. I have mucinex; I'll try that too. Thanks, everyone!

That's really interesting. Now I don't know whether to like them because of the whole miracle drug thing, or hate them for the over prescribed cash cow for cardiologists thing.
{{{sj}}} I had bunches of earaches from swimmer's ear before I pretty much stopped ever getting them wet. My most effective treatments were heat on the ear and rum in the belly, but you might not want to listen to me.
