I don't remember how it played back when the show was first airing, but now it just reads like everybody being major douchenozzles to each other (especially Wesley) for no apparent reason.
Well, to my memory, people were still pretty resistant to the whole idea of another Trek, shocking, so the inter-crew skepticism was probably mirroring the audience's. Although they really were douchenozzley, and I'm pretty sure some of my character hate-ons were carried through from that season.
Who knew that Wesley would become, like, the most awesome internet presence ever?
eta: Yay, rescue pup! Seabiscuit never used to play or bark either, and now he's a happy dog, so yours will get there. Patience and love!

NO ONE COULD HAVE PREDICTED!
Guys, I am SO BEHIND THE TIMES ON HAIR COLORING! I quit using chemical dyes in, like, 2007, and haven't dyed it at all since July (note: I still have a stockpile of henna, and if I decide that after a while, I cannot STAND NOT HAVING BRIGHT HENNA RED HAIR, OMG!, I will go back to hennaing).
So now I've got rusty brown hair with a few threads of grey and bright red ends. It's a thing.

Yeah, this is me right now; I haven't colored (or gotten a cut) since... last May or June? Oops. Definitely not since getting pregnant. So I've got plain brownish roots, shading into dark reddish brown after a few inches, with a healthy streak of grey at my temple. And since I'm lazy about my hair (clearly) and salons are pricey, I probably won't get anything done to it until well after the baby comes. Upside? At least it will be long enough to wear in a ponytail in another month or so. And nobody expects new moms to have awesome hair.

INORITE?
That's one of the funniest parts of this rewatch -- I remember when I was first watching that I and everyone else found Wesley SUPER-annoying. This time through, he's one of the only characters I
like
because he's one of the few characters not being a total douchenozzle to everyone else, and everyone else is being a massive tosser to him just because he's a kid (even though he's the only one who ever knows what's going on, and has saved their asses two or three times now).
Henna is just too much trouble for a person as lazy as I am. I'm tempted to cut it real short, see how gray it really is, and start over.
So, umm, should I separate the activistic part from the "professional background" into a different section? It is starting to make my professional background a bit unrelated to my actual profession, which I also love to pieces, no matter what it is I feel like doing in my non-work and not-university hours.
You can separate it into a section called "professional affiliations/activities", which is what I do.
Feh. StW had to cancel dinner plans for the second time this weekend. Haven't seen him in two weeks. Feh. And I've got the Sunday Night Dreads.
Oh, I hate those, smonster.
I'm actually working on changing my work schedule so that I WFH on Mondays going forward just so I can avoid (if I'm interpreting this right) Sunday Night Dreads. This is in addition to my usual Tuesdays, so Wednesday would be the first day of the week I go into the office. But at that point I'm not coming off a weekend so I think it will not have the same effect.
