Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Trust my rage

Thanks - through you I found a bunch of other cool people and I can go from there, I think.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

sj, I don't like the sound of that. Really, really.

what was the original source of the infection? I don't think I recall.

That is what is weird - we never did figure out how it got started. He had no open wounds that I could see. None of the doctors and nurses could see any, either. One of the doctors did say that between his weight and the diabetes, the skin on his lower legs may not be the immune-system germ barrier powerhouse that skin usually is.

Now his leg is healing, do they have an estimate on when he'll be able to go home?

I have to admit, when I heard about him showing it off, my first thought was "I got stabbed, you know, right here."

Don't be silly. Ryan is much more charming than Mal Reynolds.

On Wednesday they were saying "two weeks" and I have not heard a revised estimate since then.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

2 weeks is not so far away. That will be here in no time.

Andi, how weird and scary.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh poor Ryan. Well, a boo-boo or an owie is only good for garnering sympathy--he's got that part right!

sj, I hope they get this cleared up well and quickly.

Andi, I'm so glad Daniel is making concrete progess. How are you?

Now that the biggest weight of worry is gone, I feel a lot better, too. I'm still stressed by the driving (and I'm pretty sure I need to do something about my muffler soon). But I'm definitely a lot more cheerful.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Glad to hear Daniel is improving!

I can say for sure that house on top of a mountain in France is awesome! My updates will be brief and sporadic because I will only have WiFi when I'm at the house, but I can't believe that I'm still going to be here for almost two more weeks! The weather is perfect, there is much to see, the food and wine are wonderful, the house has a hot tub, wish you all were here!

Andi, I'm so glad to hear Daniel's turned a corner!

I echo Raq's recommendation of Pinterest. And I'm there under my real name, too, though I don't expect I'll be using it much until I get back. But it's awesome. And I'm amyth on Tumblr.

sj, hope you're feeling better soon.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, everyone.

WS, I really don't like it either. I will be calling my doctor furst thing this morning.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

So, remember how I was annoyed that the department had scheduled my students into six different buildings for their midterm, and I was told that there would be a proctor in each room and that I should float among the rooms? The midterm is tonight. I just learned that there aren't enough proctors. Nobody at the department seems to know how to fix this -- everybody is scrambling to rearrange people to make sure there's at least one person in charge in each room, but so far, we're still short several people.
