Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Glad to hear Daniel is improving!

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

I can say for sure that house on top of a mountain in France is awesome! My updates will be brief and sporadic because I will only have WiFi when I'm at the house, but I can't believe that I'm still going to be here for almost two more weeks! The weather is perfect, there is much to see, the food and wine are wonderful, the house has a hot tub, wish you all were here!

Andi, I'm so glad to hear Daniel's turned a corner!

I echo Raq's recommendation of Pinterest. And I'm there under my real name, too, though I don't expect I'll be using it much until I get back. But it's awesome. And I'm amyth on Tumblr.

sj, hope you're feeling better soon.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, everyone.

WS, I really don't like it either. I will be calling my doctor furst thing this morning.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

So, remember how I was annoyed that the department had scheduled my students into six different buildings for their midterm, and I was told that there would be a proctor in each room and that I should float among the rooms? The midterm is tonight. I just learned that there aren't enough proctors. Nobody at the department seems to know how to fix this -- everybody is scrambling to rearrange people to make sure there's at least one person in charge in each room, but so far, we're still short several people.

Thrive to spite them

Andi I'm glad Daniel is doing better!

Hil that sucks.

And I'm an idiot. I had my rent money in cash this weekend and instead of giving it to my landlady (who is upstairs) I wrote a check and then deposited the money this morning.

Only she deposited the check before I deposited the money so I overdrafted. But it's covered and she won't know it over drafted, however it did cost me $25 for my stupidity. Or my Benadryl haze, since I'm taking those as soon as it's recommended by the package (and the dose I took early this morning when I woke up itching has already run out so I'm not waiting for the effects to kick in)

I can't make an appointment with my urologist yet because they are in a meeting or something and the answering service is on.

The only good thing about this morning is my chest congestion is gone so I'm over my cold.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

And I'm amyth on Tumblr.

Except that tumblr doesn't allow you to look up people by the name of their tumblr from what I can see. It's most frustrating.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, askye, I had that happen with something else last week. Only my overdraft fee is $35. It's a very nice stupidity tax.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

sometimes, if you call your bank, you can get that fee reversed if this is your first time and you explain the circumstances.

Thrive to spite them

I didn't even think about asking when I was at the credit union. Now I'm trying to decide if I should call them or maybe wait in case I do something like this again where the situation might be worse.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Glad Daniel is better, though still sorry about the infection. Sorry about the various suckages for everyone else. For your entertainment, one of my semi-lucid dreams.

I was in a very strange land. We got money by taking groceries and things from our homes, and taking them to stores and putting them on shelves. We also got money from the utility companies for draining water and electricity from our homes and delivering garbage and sewage. Also we got money from credit card companies paying us what they owed us. We went to work to relax and paid employers every two weeks for that, but we did receive partial rebates on what we paid from the IRS. Though sometimes the IRS overpaid us and we had to give a little back at the end of year. You get the idea.

So I found a wise and experience person, who looked about 13 (Wae13) and asked her "Why is everything backwards from the way I remember it?"

Wae13: Why are you so surprised that the land of the dead does things differently than the place you were when you lived?

Me: I'm not dead!

Wae13: Then your dreams have taken you to a place you should not be, and you are in great danger. Better wake up quick!

And then I woke up.
