Zoe: First rule of battle, little one. Don't ever let 'em know where you are. Mal: Whoo-hoo! I'm right here! I'm right here! You want some of me? Yeah, you do! Come on! Come on! Aaah! Whoo-hoo! Zoe: Of course, there are other schools of thought...

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Hooray for Shir's mom and for some good news!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm so sorry Scrappy, for you and J.

And askye, how awful! Much ~ma to your brother and nephew.

Thrive to spite them

I talked to my brother this morning. He's hanging in there and he told my nephew but he's not sure how much he understood.

He sounded, well, like he'd said the same things over and over so I just changed the subject and asked him about school. He went back to school to finish his degree and he's taking 18 hours this semester. Luckily some of the classes are required courses that he'd actually taken in another form elsewhere (or has some real world experience) so he said the course load isn't as bad as it sounds. And one class he's kind of a teaching assistant but not technically a TA.

Because books.

askye, I'm so sorry. All kinds of ~ma to your family, especially your brother and his son.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

That's great, Shir. I hope they can get a handle on it soon.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, askye, I am so very sorry. I know how dearly you love your brother and your nephew and how upsetting just coping with the separation was for the whole family. Your ex-SIL must have been in such unfathomable pain for death to seem like her only option. Wishing so much strength and healing and support to all your family.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Oh god, askye, I'm so sorry. That's horrible -- that it happened at all, that your nephew lost his mother, that your brother has to be the one to pick up the pieces and figure out how to handle it all. Wishing much strength and comfort to your brother, your ex-SIL's boyfriend, and especially your nephew.

Scrappy, my heart goes out to you as well.

And Shir, I'm glad to hear some good news about your mom! That must be a huge relief. I hope you all find some answers soon.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Shir, glad you got good news. Hope a diagnosis and treatment plan are quick to follow.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

So, today's work woes: Spoiled Brat and Puppy Boy are off on another site, and the rest of the crew and I had a lengthy talk. I didn't realize how bad SB's attitude had gotten - they all said they'd rather work with PB. He openly talks shit about me behind my back and undermines my authority. He's bumped crew members with the trailer (so much for not needing a guide). Etc, etc. So I will be joining my supervisor to have a talk with SB, and it's not out of the question that my crew will go from five to three this week.

It's a shame - they both have a great opportunity to grow, and they're both throwing it away with both hands.
