Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

This may interest some people: for Christmas, I gave Wallybee a selection of audiobooks and CDs of musicals. The latter category included this compilation: [link] It contains two songs by Hugh Jackman, and no less than six by John Barrowman. (And, disconcertingly, Christopher Lee doing The King and I.)

Meanwhile, Ryan's decided that his gift to his parents would be: on New Year's Day, as soon as he got up, he declared that he wanted to go sit on the toilet. Apparently he's ready to be potty trained. He's also ready for his close-up, so I'm starting the new year with the latest set of photos of our little boy. It covers the last couple of months, including our holiday to Phillip Island (home of the Penguin Parade and Faunapalooza).

At the playground: [link]
In his sleeping bag and smock: [link]
At soccer training: [link]
Fun with blocks: [link]
Spending time with Mummy and Daddy: [link]
His childcare centre's Christmas party: [link]

Christmas holiday! Time for pressies: [link]
On Phillip Island (the rainbow appeared on Christmas Day): [link]
Visit to Amaze'n'Things ( [link] ). I don't think I've ever seen as much joy in this little boy as when he was confronted with multiple Ryans in the mirror maze: [link]
Faunapalooza! Ryan meets one of the residents: [link]
Back home, and Ryan does his best Freddy Krueger: [link]

Faunapalooza generated more photos than that, of course. However, most of them are in my animal collection. They start here: [link]
Aaand the echidnas start here: [link] (Ryan loved them.)

Here endeth the photos. Please note that the number of Ryan photos still exceeds the number of echidna photos. (Though admittedly, the number of Ryan photos at Faunapalooza does not. Ahem.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

BT, you made a cute!

Multiple Ryans is the cutest thing ever! How old is he now? He looks so big in these photos.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Welcome to 2012, everyone! May this be an excellent year for all of us.

Despite the whole end-of-the-world thing. That doesn't happen until December anyway. Plenty of time.

brillig

billy, in the shot of Ryan in his smock, is that child holding a Foster's can?

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Happy belated New Year. Well, OK, it's still Jan 1st, so not that late. Hope you all had good ones. There was fizzy wine and pizza here. Was nice.

Ryan is adorable, but I think BT probably already knew that.

We went to the grave today (it's been seven days) and now we are all very tired. We fly to Geneva (long story, but The Girl's family has a home there) tomorrow or the next day, and then I'm going home. Had to cancel a poster presentation I was meant to give at a postgrad conference at the end of the week, but it will be the day after I get home, and flying takes it out of me. Unprofessional, but there's not much to be done about it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

billy, in the shot of Ryan in his smock, is that child holding a Foster's can?

Either that or a sippy cup. Unless they now have sippy cup attachments to beer cans in Australia. But, you know, stuff could happen.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Aaand the echidnas start here: [link] (Ryan loved them.)

Well, of course he did. This was never in question.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Happy New Year, Bitches!

FTR, I don't think there's anything unprofessional about having to cancel something due to a family emergency. I hope nobody's making you feel bad about it.
