I predict a white night for this seminar.
Kill me now.
Giles ,'Get It Done'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I predict a white night for this seminar.
Kill me now.
Sadly, magnesium is supposed to help against migraines, and is in most of the herbal migraine prevention stuff, so now I just take Vitamin B and Vitamin D
I'm on all those, and I can really tell when I let the magnesium lapse. It makes the most obvious difference. Of everything I take prophylactically. God knows why I still have such a hard time maintaining a pill-taking routine, though. Probably because it seems to change so often? I dunno. For someone who's been on multiple prophylactics for years I'm pretty crap at it.
In re: Bibles - I am a serious Bible geek. My PhD title will be Biblical Studies, (only slightly) oddly. Although, now that I've transferred to a university that claims to have one of the best Biblical Studies departments in the world, I am hugely intimidated by the people researching things like the dating of the Gospel of Mark, and medieval German translations. I own five Bibles. Including a KJV that belonged to my great-grandfather. I've recently started giving them to charity shops. I did not need eight of the things.
dating of the Gospel of Mark
I thought there was a pretty good consensus that it was written shortly after the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE. Is that not the case?
Whenever I read serious analysis of gospel dating et al, I always get so lost and start thinking, "But how do you *know* that!" Which, of course, would involve lots of study of linquistics and textual analysis and other stuff that makes me twitchy and frustrated and feeling very stupid.
Does anyone have New Year's Eve plans this year?
TCG is playing First Night, and I'm staying home with one of my new books and also making a pot of lentil soup (it's supposed to be good luck for the New Year in Italian tradition).
ETA: We're not doing our usual NYD party this year because the holidays were too rough on us this year, and we just need a break. So, I have no cooking cleaning to do for that tonight.
I plan to eat ice cream, watch tv, and make no resolutions.
Staying home, finishing off the holiday ham and watching the rest of The Killing, which I am rather meh about but the DH is digging.
We are actually going to a big party in a hotel ballroom that involves dinner, dancing, and a drag show. I don't think I've ever been to a NYE party this big before. I'm wearing my tiara. (No, really.)
I'm going to a bar to meet up with the alumni club to watch the Peach Bowl. Nice and low key, which is good since I'm working a cold.
