I don't know, when you say it like that, it shouldn't.(Which is, of course, why you did.) But nobody would admit to being repressed, would she? I'm hurt that everyone seemed to have no problem believing the worst about *me* from quoting George Carlin.(Not that I need to be a Special Case, or anything...screw that.) Maybe the vibe has just changed in ways I'm not compatible with.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Karl, I had a posting box open for a bit before I was able to post and did not see the subsequent post from erika.
Not trying to pile on, but unfortunately I can't stay attached to the board all day. Correcting my post now.
Karl, it's cool. But I won't complain about being invisible on the board again.

I don't know that "everyone" thought the "worst". Just that...it's a touchy thing to say, and it doesn't matter who said it first. That's all.
I apologize for what I said - it was an old thing that's stuck in my mind. I need to be more aware of what I'm saying.
The "How DARE you!" quotient has seemed to have risen on the board in the last year or so.
wrod.
I think people are getting less likely to sit back and feel spoken badly about. If that's getting in the way of other people's freedom to not be considerate before they post, I guess that's a real problem.
Things I am thankful for:
- Having a purring Harvey stretched across my lap.
- Being able to swap out the PCV valve and valve hose on my car with less effort than anticipated, and then being able to get hold of Daniel's cousin to verify that I had done the job correctly.
- That my nose is no longer numb. Novocaine is weird. The cavity I had filled today wasn't too bad, either.
- The sun and relatively mild temperature today.
- That Daniel appears to be doing pretty well with his return to work.
- And just to indulge in cliche, B.org and all its denizens.

I love being able to pop the hood and adjust something on my own. And it's quite fun to say to the young man jogging over, eager to do prove his manliness, "No, thanks, I've already fixed it" as I drop the hood.
