Now I have a rash. Fortunately, my symptoms only coincide with weird tropical diseases I know I don't have. I believe I'll go to bed.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yeah, it wouldn't be right to get the weird tropical disease without first having enjoyed the tropics.
So, I have been informed that I am on the short list of candidates for a senior audio technician job at a dolphin show at the Georgia aquarium in Atlanta, if it opens up in the next six months to a year. This has thrown me for a bit of a loop. I really don't want to leave LA, for lots of reasons, but I don't think I could turn the job down. They were talking 50k plus full benies, plus a moving allowance.
But I really don't want to leave LA.
But that's a good job.
And somebody thinks I'm worth 50k, and might want to pay it. That's new territory for me.
Sean, you definitely should not turn that down if it becomes a reality! We would miss you, but dude, that's steady work! And bennies! And Atlanta is awesome.
Whoa Sean, that's a lot to process. But a good paying job is a wonderful thing, on a lot of different fronts.
And, as Pix notes, Atlanta is a nice city!
I've enjoyed Atlanta the two times I've gone. Ginger is lovely, and a non-Buffista friend works there for the CDC.
$50,000 goes a lot further in Atlanta. You could buy a house.

So long as you are still fully aware you don't have them, it's okay. If you start actually convincing yourself you do, put down the whatever.
Sean, that is a good living doing something you enjoy and it's high praise when people so value your skills. I'd consider it. You can move again. A really good salary and full benefits are pretty good for the sense of self and worth.
