Tell him that people are going to buy you gifts anyway, and they like having guidance on what to buy.
I think I've said that almost verbatim. He's come around to the idea but still feels guilty.
Oh, speaking of which, luggage? We got an awesome duffle bag that we still use.
I was wondering about luggage! So that's okay to register for, then?
I'm obviously not awake today.
Nah, it's a pretty wordy list. I bet right now, *I* couldn't tell you what I posted.
More santoku knives that kick more ass?

Two spouses enter! Two spouses leave, both with stab wounds!
Ask for All-Clad! It's expensive and awesome and will last you for freaking ever.
Also you can ask for geeky stuff. I bought my friend this TARDIS cookie jar: technically kitchenware! And it was really well received.

Does it have more space on the inside than on the outside? Because that would be an AWESOME feature in a cookie jar. Oh look, more cookies!
Seconding the All-Clad vote. And dishtowels, because: frequently very pretty, plus super-useful, plus a nice wide price range is always, always good.
Do you have a decent knife rack or knife block? (Oh, dear God, I want that Kapoosh universal block like WOAH; my mom has one, and it's tactile and lovely and takes up very little space and makes a neat little rustling sound when the knives go in or out.)
I'm thinking along Liese's lines. I have glass (sort of apothecary looking) canisters that I LOVE and have used for ever.
I'd also suggest large glass food storage jars and such. Since I stopped using a lot of plastic ware for leftovers and soups, what I store is lasting longer. No kidding, I put some fresh cut pineapple in a big jar formerly known as artichoke hearts from Costco and...well I don't even want to tell you how long it was in that jar before I actually ate it. It was deLISH, which I'm certain is because of the airtight nature of the jar.
A pizza stone might also be nice. Very useful for all sorts of oven-based cooking, especially gluten free pizza dough.
An electric teapot?
OH, and spout for your olive oil bottle. I never knew how much that would mean to me until someone gave me one.
You have a Sodastream already, right?
Can anyone who has used both True Orange and True Grapefruit tell me if TO is less acidic than TG?
I'm using the Grapefruit now, but it upsets my stomach a bit...unlike the fruit blends. I want to go sugar-free and am wondering if I should try the TOrange or some other flavoring.

I don't need sympathy, but I just want to say that I am terribly sad over the death of our doggy buddy Gary. He weighed about 16 lbs but had a HUGE spirit. He never did anything by halves...which includes his dying. He was a stout as an Oak until one day when he exhibited some alarming symptoms. Two days later, he was gone as the result of an autoimmune disease of some sort.
He leaves behind a legion of fans and his dog, Pony...who was one of Bartleby's best friends. We will all miss him so much!
His person, who I admire tremendously, can't really talk right now...despite being a self-described 'non-cryer.' So, I thought I'd tell y'all. The sadness will pass quickly, I'm sure, but today, it comes in sharp contrast to the gorgeous weather outside.
You can totally register for luggage, Steph.
Aw, bonny, that's rough.
