"Hey, you sass that hoopy Ford Prefect? There's a frood who really knows where his towel is."
Welcome, Ford!
'Safe'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Welcome, Ford!
Hey, Suzy and everyone else.
SO happy to hear about baby Ford.
No clue on what happens next with Step Mom. They lifted sedation and she got agitated to the point of messing with her tubes so they re-sedated her. They've got her heart rate stabilized. Once they de-intubate (outubate?) in the next day or so (pending her heart rate staying put I think) they'll lift sedation again.
I was with her this weekend un-sedated but its hard to say "conscious". If you say her name, she turns her head to you. Her eyes are usually rolled-back, not making contact. It's hard to tell what she's getting and what she's not. They say there are no signs of brain damage with the tests they've been able to do. She'll raise her hand, but when I hold it she doesn't grasp. This freaks Dad and me out similarly.
Welcome new baby Ford!

I had a Toastmasters meeting last night. One of the speakers gave a speech on the life of Douglas Adams. (I told him afterwards that he should've given the speech holding a towel.)

Yeah, that's not comforting. I hope she shows signs of improvement soon, Trudy.
How hard, Trudy. Some of her actions sound like they could be the result of the sedation, esp if they are giving her propofol. I hope she regains consciousness soon.
Welcome to the world, Ford!
Continued~ma to your family, Trudy. That sounds super tough to witness.
And a separate post for the mememe:
So... my spidey sense was right. D broke up with me tonight. He said his feelings had plateaued and he liked me a lot but didn't love me, and he thought we were a good match but not a great match, blah blah breakup-cakes.
Fucking bummer, yo. I talked to my sister, and she pointed out some key issues that I had been... not ignoring, but thought could be gotten around. The communication issues, him not being a pet person (I mean, he's immune to Frankie's cuteness, wtf). That lessened the sting a little bit but I've still got some grieving to do, so I'm taking tomorrow off.
I can feel the protective wings of my friends and family circling around me, and that's a small balm. It hurts, and it's going to take some time for my brain to rearrange itself. That is what it is.
Oh, no, smonster. I'm so sorry.
I am sorry, smonster. That's rough.
And Trudy, it's so hard.
Welcome to the world, wee Ford!
Good gravy losing an old email and having to update is a pain. So far mostly with my Apple ID. iCaramba!
{{{{{smonster}}}}} I'm sorry.
Oh, bah, smonster. Bah humbug.
