Yeah, we're building a race of frog-people. It's a good time

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I just googled What Does Name Mean

So I just googled "What does Smay Mean"

And weirdly found a reference in U&lc, which is the typography quarterly that was my first girlfriend's favorite publication.

Apparently a design company found it in some dummy text and claimed it for their own. But I wonder if Julia had created the dummy text originally. (She was a nationally known expert in hand-set letter press.)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

All of those cupcakes sound tasty. Can you get an assortment?

We'll probably do 2 kinds (chocolate and vanilla), to give people an option but keep it simple.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

OMG, sj, we're both princess farmers! ::high fives::

::high fives:: TCG has been reading a book about organic lawn care all weekend, so it seems like an especially appropriate definition of my married name at the moment.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Oh, Nora. There just are no words that really fix these times. I wish there were.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

"light" "famous" "moor" (dark/swarthy or marsh/fen)

Just a tad contradictory there, but when am I not?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I just feel so awkward about feeling what I'm feeling. Which is why I'm posting here rather than Natter.

Love the cupcake talk! And the name meanings.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I had a previously scheduled happy hour, which meant that I couldn't sit around watching the news. Which was good. The night of 9/11, I went to chorus rehearsal.

The night of Katrina, I sat by myself at the computer at 3AM and cried. Not so healthy.

There is so much B.S. around the meaning of my name. Because not very many baby name books want to come right out and wrestle with the meaning of a feminine version of a name which means "man" or perhaps "manly".

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

My name is "lily", "defender of mankind", "strong warrior". I'm a fricking powerful flower?
