Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Not gonna ask how you know this.

It's a bitch to sweep up, though.

So, question for y'all. The other day I went out to my car to find that the door handle was sticking up. It's a 16 year old plastic car with a plastic door handle which no longer goes back down on its own. I'm so used to it that I automatically flick it down as part of the process of opening it. But Daniel often needs to be reminded otherwise when he is getting into the driver's seat, the door won't close properly. (He doesn't drive my car very often, but it has happened.) In this instance, when I got into the car the glove box was open. I don't keep much in there - and the current insurance card is present. I did not find the vehicle registration, but I don't specifically remember putting it into the car's glove box after getting the renewal tabs last winter. I know I carried it around in my purse for a while waiting for weather to be nice enough to apply the tabs. I may simply have tossed the registration onto the passenger's seat to be dealt with later, then tossed it into the back seat in a fit of clearing out the seat for an actual passenger. But I have not found it.

A. How freaked out should I be?

And 2. How much fuss and bother is it to get a replacement vehicle registration thingy?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I've been wedded 3 years today.

THREE years?!? Holy cow! Congratulations! Would you like the traditional three-year anniversary gift of a blue elephant statue?

Tep, you know that you must get a sapphire and silver mani-pedi now?

I was actually thinking dark red for my toes, because I'm going to make a dark red rose bouquet. And probably no manicure, because I destroy them. I will, however, remember to file my nails. Probably.

And I am delighted the dress fits! igigi makes lovely clothes -- isn't it comfortable AND gorgeous? I can't wait to see you!

I so SO love it. And damn, it's comfortable.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Windsparrow,

as someone who had to get a replacement reg, it really isn't a problem. I had to show up at the DMV and pay a fee. I think I had to show my driver's license and maybe an old reg. Maybe $15?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Vehicle registration is important. You can get a ticket for not having one. You may be able to get a replacement online, but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle to go to the DMV. Check out the website and see what they require you to bring down to obtain a duplicate registration.

Congratulations, Strix! That sounds like a lovely way to wake up this morning.

Oh boy. There weren't any old ones in there.

Congrats, Strix & hubby!

Andi, here's the application for a duplicate registration in your state. [link]

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Teppy, get a gel manicure--they really do last and SO PRETTY. I can't keep regular manicures more than, oh, an hour before they chip and peel and die. Gels will last me two weeks and look perfect the whole time.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Congrats, Strix and D.!

I have fallen in love with the blue elephant, which in my head looks like this. He would love a silver lei!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Um. Don't offer this to D. He will likely snap it up and paint it.

Thanks, all! It WAS a lovely surprise -- I told him a long time ago I preferred tulips and cheerful flowers to roses. As soon as I am caffeinated and dressed, I think Some Delicious Food and Drinks are on the schedule. His folks spend their anniversaries drinking wine on the front porch, and with a few tweaks, I approve this celebration.
