Mom and I made ricotta pies last night, but we didn't color eggs. This morning I did yoga while Mom and Stepdad argued about dinner. Good times. TCG was smart and went out for a long walk. I'm waiting impatiently for my adorable niece to show up.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I had insomnia for the first time since darkening my room. Why? Because I had the first caffeine I've had in months.
Went to bed at 5am and got up at 8.
More caffeine this morning, just to be upright.
Tonight, maybe a tylenol pm and cold, cold turkey on the hard stuff for a long while.
Still, I completely scrubbed my bathroom and, by that, I mean...all the nail polish tested, all unecessary products tossed, new holder bins for better organizing, vacuumed out dryer vent, scrubbed walls, scoured tub, organized jewelry, drawers rearranged, cabinet emptied/scrubbed and reorganized...in other words, PERFECT.
Now, the kitchen...flee in fear old spices, I'm comin' fer ya.
My spring is clean...at least until the stimulant wears off.
This is my brain on drugs.
Have you ever made a red velvet lamb cake, Steph? Because I would so laugh.
No cake today, but there will be chocolate and mochi, and maybe I'll make blondies if I feel an overwhelming need for more sugar.
How do you tie-dye?
Well, more "tie-dye" than actual tie-dye, as we just used wee droppers to swirl highly concentrated dye onto the eggs. Really they were more Jackson Pollack eggs, but with more color. But cute! I will post egg pics on FB to share with people.
After handing back midterms on Friday, one student came up to me and asked why I'd marked something wrong on his paper when it was actually right. I looked at it, and I could see that, when I was grading, I had circled the answer space in the way that I do when there's nothing written there. So he had to have written in the correct answer after getting it back. I called him on it, and he backed down, but still. That's just ridiculous.
Wow, Hil, that's some balls, and not in the good way.
A co-worker I'm friends with on Facebook asked me what "LGBT" meant. I knew she was kinda clueless, but that surprised me.
"Man, crack a book sometime."
I am a perpetually late person. It ain't for lack of trying. And that's all I'm going to say about that, except that I (mostly) enjoy living in a place where time is more fluid. And that D is super patient with me on it.
Congrats on the new place, sumi! And yes, moving sucks. I am in the "cull while unpacking" phase, which is hard when I'm sick. I find myself putting off decisions, again. If only I could teleport my sister down here.
Jilli, glad you had a good, drama-free time.
I hope everyone is having a Happy Easter or a good weekend, depending on what you are celebrating.
I'm still feeling really tired, Will came over and we made hamburgers and watched more Duck Dynasty. I perked up a bit while he was here but I feel like I could crawl and bed and sleep for the rest of the day.
I try not to be late--but it often depends on what I"m doing beforehand (anything that is the first thing after I wake up, I'm likely to be running behind). I'm rarely more than 5 or 10 minutes late, though.
A big thing that peeves me though is people who don't back-calculate. Like, I understand that sometimes you calculate wrong, but like, if you say "Yes, let's do lunch, around noon!" and plan to also go to IKEA in the morning, you OUGHT to think "Ok, IKEA is 30 minutes away, so I'd have to leave there by 11:30. And I plan to get a couple things at IKEA, so figure an hour there, plus half an hour to get there, so leave my house by around 10..". If you do that, sure, maybe you leave your house a few late and have to rush, or maybe IKEA is a madhouse and it takes a few extra, but you're not massively late. If, on the other hand, you call me at 11:30 and say you just got to IKEA, well, I know you weren't thinking.
