Have you ever looked at someone's facebook and wondered if it's possible to be *too* socially conscious?

I don't think so. But I have unfollowed that person on Tumblr.

But then Facebook for me is made up of a lot of people I feel like I have to "friend." So we're not real friends, only Facebook friends. Crazypants extended family and people I went to school with but only don't unfriend because we've still got mutual friends that I do like.

But on Tumblr? Totally. I don't disagree with being socially conscious and calling attention to things but some people push it so far that it doesn't feel like a conversation or even an opportunity to think, learn or push comfort zones. It just feels like grandstanding so *they* look The Most Socially Conscious of Them ALL.

Man, I needed to take a Flexoril because my back was seized up last night, but I am a total zombie today.

But then I figure there are people who are FB friends with me (like women I went to high school with) who think *I* am that person for them (although I don't know how I could be, since half of my posts are pictures of the pets and the other half are talking about what I cooked for dinner).

This! Very much so. I have tons of friends who were bitching about how marriage shouldn't be the goal, and people shouldn't change to the equals sign on FB because it's an HRC thing, and HRC is evil to the trans* people and therefore you are PERSONALLY HATING THEM if you change your profile pic. And I had other friends from college, mostly who are like 'Yeah, gay is fine...not my thing..."

Hah! Oh, I hadn't even realized they shared initials! Hil got it, it's Human Rights Campaign. Big gay lobbying group. Which admittedly is more known for their rich white men than their diversity of queers or anything.

Well the Being Feminist FB group kind of exploded because one of the content creators (that's what he called himself) is against legalize same sex marriage at all. And he made ruffled more than a few feathers by calling it a fluffy thing. I'm kind of following with half an eye.

I did not dump my therapist today. I did share with her my frustrations about my reading something she assigns and then never getting around to discussing those things. She acknowledge my concerns and seemed to agree with me that they were concerns. I talked about a lot of difficult things today that I actually wanted to talk about, and she wants me to look into a book that I already own (but haven't read). So, I need to figure out where the boxes are with my psychology books.

We are home. I am lobbying to spend the last day of spring break in PJs because omg so tired. I did not spend one red cent in the American Girl store. HPF? Did an admirable job of getting the most for her money.
