I'm loving the wedding talk, happy new is happy!

in other happy news, first date with cute geeky pilot guy went very well, in spite of the appointed restaurant being closed without notice (boo!) and having to relocate a few miles away. And bonus: he also has mid-week "weekends" so my working weekends is totally not an issue. He still lives in Washougal, but has a car and doesn't mind driving so I'm calling it a win for now.

eta: having a car is actually kinda a big deal here, the last 4 guys I dated in Portland didn't drive. Bike and mass transit only. Can be problematic when you live far apart.

If I make it to St. Patty's Day without getting sick, it'll be a miracle. I'm nodding now as I type this, though I'm listening to NPR as I type (am on the ferry).

Those look cool. But don't commit to doing TOO much of your own stuff by yourself or you're going to stressed out of your mind and staying up until midnight the last couple days before your wedding crafting like a damn fool.

Also, don't make decorations you'll want to keep FOREVER.

Because it'll be hard enough to get rid of the ones you, y'know, don't.

I actually possess NO crafty DIY skills, so that's not a big concern. I can put photos in mason jars, though.

(But if I start talking about taking classes to learn decoupage -- whatever that is [seriously, I have no idea] -- take my keys and tell me I must chill.)

We're going to look at the B&B Saturday, and unless it's on a Hellmouth, I think we'll be booking it for September. (What am I saying? ESPECIALLY if it's on a Hellmouth, we'll be booking it.) So once I can actually see the space, I'll know what we might want.

But seriously, for a late September wedding, I'm thinking table decorations of photos in jars, candles, and tiny pumpkins. Because TINY PUMPKINS.

Decoupage is just gluing pictures to stuff. Which doesn't mean it's not without it's own issues and perils but it's stuff like gluing comic book pages to a table top or something like that.

And I got an email back from my landlady, explaining why her relationship didn't work out (didn't really need to know that) and one sentence about how I can stay as long as I like.

Which I guess is good, but I'm still going to be looking at places that might fit me better.
