Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Like Plei, I found early on that yoga was very much not my friend.

I have a short torso, too, so anything where you're supposed to bring your blah to your head isn't happening. My boobs get in the way. There's only so much modding you can do when you can't even get 1/3 of the way into a pose because, no matter how flexible you are, you've got a few pounds of tit between you and your legs.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Maybe you just haven't found yours yet.

That's possible, but I haven't looked very hard or had the money. I figure, right now, I've had enough grounding in the basics and enough awareness of my own body to get in a half hour a couple of times a week, and that will be more stretching than I've done in a LONG time!

And yeah, I feel ya, Plei. I mean, I don't FEEL yo..your boobs are...mine also...

WTF-ever. Yeah.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I have a short torso, too, so anything where you're supposed to bring your blah to your head isn't happening.

I have the same issue. I've found a few yoga and Pilates moves that work for me in the context of my own workouts, but that's about it. I suppose if I looked hard enough, I could find a type of yoga or an instructor that worked for me, but now that I've found a kind of exercise I love doing, there's little motivation to look.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've tossed out most of my lipsticks now. I went to Sephora with Polgara, and came back with the closest to pinup red that I'm gonna get, a nice dark browm, a lighter brown that's about the colour of my lips and then evens them out, a rich purple, and a dark gothy purple.

I'm surprised, though, that they not only couldn't find me a venal blood rich burgundy lip colour, but that she almost seemed confused about what I was describing. She kept bringing back purples, where it's supposed to be about reds.

So I'm looking for recommendations--it's pretty much what Clinque's Black Honey would be like if it had coverage, except more like a blood syrup. Help a sister out?

brillig

There are several machines at the gym that I can't work with because I'm simply too short. One of the trainers didn't believe it till I demonstrated that the bit I'm supposed to straddle comes up to my belly button and I'm not going to push around 50 pounds while standing on a box-thing.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oo, that's a great idea, ita, to go and buy the right kinds of lip colors. I have several random lipsticks, most of which I never wear.

You mean My Life's Goal has changed, ita !

You're SO high-maintenance! Ok, Goal Change noted, but I bet Jilli can rock your socks on that one.

I'm curious -- which red ended up working for you?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I managed a parenting fail last night. We were watching David Attenborough's Frozen Planet just before Ryan's bedtime, and Ryan witnessed a rather desperate wolf attacking a bison. He found it rather distressing. (His commentary: "Look! Fall down!")

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have several random lipsticks, most of which I never wear.

I finally gathered mine all together and looked at them, and it was ridiculous. I was clearly trying to achieve something, but had so many near misses that I didn't end up wearing much of anything. So I decided to start again from scratch (except for Black Honey--one always keeps the Black Honey). Throwing out that pile was liberating.

Simplest of the simple, Erin. I ended up with Sephora's Rouge. I just went and tried it on again, because I couldn't believe it was that easy, and it honestly doesn't have that odd orange cast most reds end up with on my lips. I also bought Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense #47 (dark brown) and #48 purple, Sephora Lip Attitude-Glamour #15 (lip tone brown), and Kat Von D (ick) Homegirl (mad dark gothy purple).

"Look! Fall down!"

Circle of Life!

OK, maybe he doesn't need to learn that lesson quite yet. Still. Circle of Life!
