Worked great for me. Only side effect was the turning me gay.
Not a bad outcome. heh.
I've had no problems with the Mirena FWIW, but I'm also all done having kids. I do recall hearing in passing about a class action suit against the makers of Mirena, but I don't know what it was about.
Hah. Nice side effect indeed!
I am so freaking pissed. I showed up at dancing tonight, a bit late because even though I had shiny new boots to try out and show off, I was feeling ugly (all looking in the mirror going "why does my makeup look clownish?!? Why is my hair so frizzy?") So I show up, and see a group of queer women who look age-appropriate, who I don't recognize. I'm all "ooh....new people!" Not too many of my friends were out. Dance a dance with a friend. See one of the newbies dancing out of the corner of my eye, think "oh, it's that rugby girl who used to come a lot, I'll have to dance with her later". Go back to my drink, look on the dance floor and realize....it is not the rugby girl. It is my ex. Who is clowning around on the dance floor with some new friends and maybe with a date?? I was like "are you fucking kidding me? This is MY place. I brought you here once. You can even come to this bar any other day of the week, or later on Friday nights, but you KNOW this is my thing. And not even a text to say like "hey my friends want to go to the cuff tonight" warning or something?" And I felt like a coward but I couldn't stay and watch--or BE watched. Had like one more dance with someone good, and then left. She better not come again or there will be words. Find a different fucking activity. You've never done dancing and I know you hate country music. Fuck off.
My current method of tracking my period is to bitch about it on facebook. That way I just scroll back...
The Mirena is awesome (I haven't had a period in ~7 years), but they last only 5 years, so if you're still fertile and still don't want to get pregnant, you have to swap out for a new one after 5 years. For me, the removal of the old one/insertion of the new one hurt 10 times more than getting the first one. But it was still worth it. It's awesome.
Menopause happened 12 years ago. It was uneventful and welcomed. I hated each and every BC method I ever used. DH#1 got a vasectomy so that was a dozen years of not having to deal with it. BC pills caused horrible depression, as did HRT when they suggested I try that. I took some natural herbal things through the peri stages for help with hot flashes, but really it was an easy road for me.
You've never done dancing and I know you hate country music. Fuck off.
I'm sorry your evening was ruined.
gives ex stinkeye.
meara, I'm sorry your night out was ruined. I hope it was a one time thing.
TCG is shoveling. We still have electricity, but Mom doesn't.
My mom reports three feet of snow. Apparently the town snowplows got stuck when they attempted to plow her street, so she is well and truly snowed in.
Mom said a lot of the private snow plows near her are out of gas and many of the gas stations are also out of gas, so that there is very little that can be done to plow people out.
In Europe, per my former Dr, they're rated good for 7 years--the US just hasn't approved the Mirena for that long.
Mine has *cough* been on Euro time because my Dr left before I could schedule getting it out. I'll have it taken out once the post-snip checks are clear for Paul, and I will miss it, because periods are stupid and I like not having them.
