Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Mom said a lot of the private snow plows near her are out of gas and many of the gas stations are also out of gas, so that there is very little that can be done to plow people out.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

In Europe, per my former Dr, they're rated good for 7 years--the US just hasn't approved the Mirena for that long.

Mine has *cough* been on Euro time because my Dr left before I could schedule getting it out. I'll have it taken out once the post-snip checks are clear for Paul, and I will miss it, because periods are stupid and I like not having them.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Wowza, Vortex! Just looking at that photo makes me want hot cocoa.

Thanks for the info on Mirena. I realized I was actually curious about Nuvaring. Has anyone used that?

meara, that sucks. Maybe it wasn't her idea? Still, sucks to have a night ruined.

Speaking of exes... went to the underwear and capes party. It was pretty fun. It was nice to finally have a reason to wear my only matching bra/panties/garter belt outfit. Plus, I was able to use a fake fur wrap for my cape. I felt very Daisy Buchanan. The whole house literally shimmied from everyone moving around, and around, and around (you're welcome).

It's a good thing I've come a long way in my body acceptance and self-confidence, because one of D's exes (he's friends with two in town) showed up in duct tape. Only duct tape. Including a cape taped to her shoulders. She's super skinny and, I discovered last night, has a lovely voice. Her eyes are not lavender, though, and her hair is more mousy than red.

She's never been anything but nice to me, and I don't want to be That Girlfriend, so I'm just trying to be compassionate with my little twinges of insecurity.

Hey, she's an ex, not a current, right? But still, yeah. And go you for body pride. I'm sure you were freaking hot as hell.

It probably wasn't Sues idea to go dancing, but I still feel like she could've texted an warned me rather than waiting til I showed up to text "hi".

Smonster, I really liked Nuvaring. The cost even with my insurance got to be too much. But I'd happily go back to it if I could.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I slept the entire day. Like, I woke up "for good" at 10, ate, lazed in bed with the computer, started dozing, and had to force myself to get up at 2:30. Maybe there's something about New Orleans. Or vacation.

So Nora and smonster, I suspect I won't be trying to do parades Sunday or Monday, with the weather forecast. I'd like to see you guys if possible, though.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

smonster, I like my NuvaRing quite a bit. Don't feel it, no major mood swings or weight changes, periods definitely less severe. And they still have the same 50%-off-the-first-12 promotion they had going when I first started, so you can at least try it for a few months without taking too big a financial hit even if you've got insurance issues.

Art Crawl!!!

Dana! I also wasted all of today. Got up, made pancakes and then realized that I had just missed two of my favorite horses racing at Gulfstream Park. (Watched it online: exciting race.)

Now, lounging even more.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I also wasted all of today.

As did I! I accomplished dying my hair, and slounging around in pajama pants. Next I may accomplish a nap.
