Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sumi, feel better.

Laura, I have seen a nutritionist before, and I didn't find it really helpful. So, we will see. At least he didn't say I had to lose a bunch of weight before getting pregnant, which I was worried about. The doctor did say that the chances of successful invitro (if it comes to that) are lowered when the mother is overweight.

The weather channel is telling me we're getting a 1/2 of snow, but we already have a 1/2 inch and it is still coming down hard.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You must have got our first half inch! We were supposed to have accumulation by now, but it's really just coming down and immediately melting. It is seriously coming down, though. I definitely think we'll get our 5-8 inches overnight if it keeps it up like this.

I wanted to go into town when I got home from the rez, but I don't see that happening. Plus with the SO sick, I'm not sure that the thing I need the supplies for is actually going to happen.

Anyway, so I got home today, and the Biscuit, completely sodden and muddy, was happily waiting for me, loose, on our front step. WTF! I guess he took advantage of the SO being knocked out on drugs to go on walkabout. He shouldn't have been able to get out, but when it's super windy, our back door can open on its own. I thought I had it deadbolted but I guess not. And it was obviously super windy while I was gone, because I came home and our trash can was knocked over, and the bird feeding station was moved to the east about a foot.

Anyway, he's okay, but was very very dirty and is still pretty sodden. But I stoked up the fire, and we are now, the both of us, cuddled in front of it, drying off. The SO is still asleep, so I don't even know if he realizes the dog was out! I'm super glad he's sleeping, though, because it's the first time I've heard him sleep for any protracted amount of time in days.

So! Adventures for everyone!

Thrive to spite them

It's been snowing on and off all day. Enough to make the roads bad. Tomorrow it's supposed to be too warm for snow - rain is forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday. Wednesday high is forecast for 47! Except 70% chance of rain, so no real chance to go outside and enjoy the warm weather.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

How can bad Biscuit be so dang cute?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I know! He was so joyful! "I had such a great time while you were gone! I saw all my friends! And smell my awesome smells, I totally visited the horses and possibly some elk! And ok, you didn't come home quite exactly when I thought you were going to, so I'm a little colder than I expected to be! But you're home now, so let's play! Or go inside, yeah, let's go inside!" And he put up with me toweling him off and washing his feet with the foot washing mug and then trotted straight to the woodstove all, okay, make this hotter now! So I did. I mean, how could I turn down that soggy face?

I couldn't punish him, of course, it was too long ago, and he came back, which is what he's supposed to do. There was a delivery, so I hope it happened earlier and he didn't harangue the delivery man. But honestly, if the door blew open, I can hardly blame him! Now he's fed and very sleepy.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

A grand day out for Biscuit. Glad he is home and warming up.

It is snowing here. Threw CJ in the car so he could drive with the big fat flakes coming down. They didn't last long but we are supposed to get more overnight.

Art Crawl!!!

Aww, what a charmer that Biscuit is.

I have to say that as soon as I lay down I started feeling better.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I was sleepy too, apparently. We lay down and I totally zonked out.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Biscuit! Silly boy. Frankie goes walkabout when he has the chance and comes back grinning (thankfully I usually figure it out pretty quickly, and block the hole in the fence again).

sumi, I hope you feel better soon.

So on the book of faces, I just corrected one anarchist acquaintance who posted that bullshit Hitler quote and then another conservative acquaintance who was ranting about Obama lying about taxes not going up. Hit him, quite calmly, with facts and cites from wsj, new yorker, and forbes. His response? FUCK ALL THE POLITICIANS!!! Um, yay?

I think that's enough tilting at windmills for the evening. I am kind of marveling at my ability to keep calm and refute on. Especially since I'm still in the throes of a panic attack.
