Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It's this shop. I'm sure the rug cost more than $65.

I just don't see why they take this risk in a neighborhood carpeted with dogs.

Who do they charge when a bird poos on one of their rugs?
I've always wondered about this. Their 'front yard' is right under a HUGE tree.

B) this particular shop hangs rugs over their sidewalk fence for display on the weekends, and I'm pretty certain this sort of thing happens a lot.

Knowing dogs, the odds are high that Cagney peed on the rug because another dog had already done so. If they leave it out, they can probably try to charge a lot more people with dogs.

That's what I said, that someone probably already had peed on it. He gave me an ugly smile and said that he was SURE no one else had done so.

Yeah. I really need to think about this. I do want to be a good neighbor, but don't know how to do that without giving in to this pressure.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Ouch, bonny, that sucks.

Hil...PEANUT! I love it. He's cute; good luck!

I like casual days when you get stuff done, but in kinda slo-mo and very I'll just putter with this, and hey, presto! it's more organized.

Plus it's grey and chilly and windy, and I really don't want/need to leave the house.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

He gave me an ugly smile and said that he was SURE no one else had done so.

He...doesn't sound like he's a good neighbor.

Hill, what a cute dog! I hope it works out.

He...doesn't sound like he's a good neighbor.

Agreed.

He...doesn't sound like he's a good neighbor.

That doesn't really mitigate bonny's responsibility as the dog owner.

True, and I'm going to take my part in it.

What I don't understand is how the risk of this sort of thing happening...which it MUST happen all the time, given the demographic...it is worth the risk to them to display their product in public space.

They don't do so on weekdays, only on the weekends when the dog population around here is enormous.

eta: on the front of my responsibility...I'm generally pretty aware of how much Cagney has 'in the tank' so to speak. We walked a goodly distance before we arrived in front of that store and I was definitely was not watching him. That is on me. But I swear, I thought he was out.

As Zen alluded, I would not want to be a customer of that store and purchase a 'pre-peed' rug without my knowledge...and I am a dog lover!

Didn't say it did, now did I?
