I really need Tim to teach me.
Now my mascara'd lashes are hitting my glasses. I think it's bathtime for bonzo to wash all this off.
Also, I think I'm done with work for the day. I'm pretty happy with what I got done. I think if I can finish it tomorrow I'll be in pretty good shape.
I put on makeup this morning because mgmt is all gung ho about taking new photos for everyone's keycard/id. This only happens about once a decade and the photos are kinda like mugshots that everyone in law enforcement has access to (and uses to put faces to voices on the radio.) It was imperative that I not look like an unwashed slob. So I put on makeup and got my pic taken. Then, because I looked all purty and everyone at work was commenting on it, i took myself out for a fancy dinner after work at a vegan trattatorio that I crave fairly frequently. It was sooooooooo good: potato gnocchi with this amazing butternut squash sauce of some sort, nummy kale, fried sage, and diced tart apples. And then a chocolate mousse hazelnut praline bombe. I know it's all vegan, but dang that gnocchi sauce was more delicious that most butter sauces i've had and the chocolate mousse is absolutely to die for. Way better than anything i've managed to accomplish at home with tofu and dark chocolate. Sure, i'm not over my calorie count for the day, but it was sooo worth it. Gotta give the eyeliner a treat!
eta: shared because Hil and Laga totally made me do it ;)
That's awesome, erin! Good for you.
"These are really hard to walk in, but they're only 5 1/2 inches."
Tim is mos def a better girl than I am, at least in that respect.
erin, that sounds yummy!
I have teeny tiny straight lashes, but don't wear mascara much because it makes them itch. I don't think it's an allergy, they just get itchy.
I have found my One True Mascara. So much better than Blink I can't even tell you. I have short, thin lashes, but this makes them look amazing. It's an expensive mascara with two brushes (a primer and the main), and it's worth every penny. It's Lorac Special Effects: [link]
I'm a little obsessed.
I just went to the local shelter and met a dog and filled out an application to adopt him. There are some other people applying for the same dog, though, so they'll have to decide which home would be best for him. If I don't get to adopt this dog, then they'll put me on the list for other dogs that come in. This is the one I applied for: [link]
Cute pooch! In my case, a single woman won out over several families for both my dogs. Good luck with the adoption.
In the realm of Please God, make my life not suck so much right now...Cagney peed on a rug at a local merchant's shop this morning. They are charging me $65 to clean it.
On one hand, I totally get it.
On the other, I'm pissed...pun totally intended...that A) Cagney has walked past this place a hundred times and has never done this so, why today and B) this particular shop hangs rugs over their sidewalk fence for display on the weekends, and I'm pretty certain this sort of thing happens a lot.
I'll pay, of course, but I really, really, truly did not need this right now.
Why on earth are you paying that? The rugs were outside, yes?
Who do they charge when a bird poos on one of their rugs?
I always thought it was gross, the idea of buying a rug that someone's had outside for who knows how long. And they charge a price as if it were new, too, I bet.
