Also, I approve heartily of literal gold stars.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yeah, I'm going into one of the few industries where I could, in fact, get a good, actual job (healthcare), but, even there, it's total bullshit. And I know it's much worse elsewhere in the economy. There are many times when I want to go demand an increase in the minimum wage and that the IRS/Dept of Labor/Whoever crack down on the temp/contract bullshit.
I sometimes have a hard time believing that I've been working for myself for over a decade now.
Right now I just want to say FUCKIT and get some kind of boring, easy corporate job that pays 40k and offers healthcare. Those exist, right?
They do exist, but they are not as plentiful as they once were. We just hired someone fresh out of college in my department in December, so it does happen. I think it depends on the field and all of that as well. Also, I know that some temp jobs offer benefits (my current company goes through an agency that has benefits - I started off that way almost 13 years ago[!!!]).
Gris, I'm so sorry for your losses.
Thanks, y'all. I appreciate it.
Where is everyone? Hello? Is this thing on?
Hi there.
I have a funny story.
They're making me manager at work. Not my dream job but I guess I should be happy, it is more money. That's not the funny story.
My boss was going over the 'customer satisfaction survey' results for the past few months..
Boss: So we're at 68% overall satisfaction
Me: That's bad
Boss: Well we were at 62% for the previous period so we're up 10%!
Congrats and heh heh on the Boss' math, Laga!
He rounded up! Congrats on the promotion.
Had a nice day with D. Went to see a house I may rent, right by Tom and Nora's; then ran some errands and did a couple of things at home; then took Frankie with us and walked around the Quarter, read while sitting on the courthouse steps listening to a band, and gave Frankie a good romp at the de facto FQ dog park.
Now he's at his to watch the Packers, and I'm at mine trying to psyche myself up to cook some of the ridiculous amount of veggies I have.
