JZ, I had also heard of her, mostly because my roommate is a running groupie and loves reading books about the stuff (she currently has a (auto?)biography of the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, in her bag). But super awesome--you should totally scan the article and put them both up on Good Stuff.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I had not heard of her; way to flip the patriarchy the running bird, woman!
I am feeling a touch better, and the kiddo seems to sound and feel better.(Touch wood.)
Laura, are you a vegetarian? Pesctarian? What about rumaki? Or stuffed mushrooms with a dijonaisse dipping sauce?
(Am I getting my appetite back? I don't have norovirus, but seemed to be one of the "lucky" few who couldn't keep anything in their stomach. Too bad I can't wear my slinky NYE outfit, cause I've lost 6 lbs. in 4 days. Perhaps I will try a grilled cheese sandwich later: GOURMET!)

Yes, Pesca these days. I may just stroll around the grocery store and see what jumps out at me.
If it jumps out at you, I recommend that you NOT buy it...
Trying to be inspired for quick and easy NYE snacks. DH would go for bags of chips, but I need something more interesting.
Quiche is pretty easy and tasty and you can serve it hot or cold.
Also you can get little pastry shells and fill them with yummy things. I made a kind of sweet sauteed onion/goat cheese filling one year that was very delicious.
Pig in a blanket! Fun and tasty.
Hot queso dip. Or a seven layer dip. Or if it's brunchy time a strata.
Oh man, I want pigs in a blanket. I think my savory tooth is back. (My lunch [currently in the oven] is going to be scallops wrapped in bacon. Thank you, Trader Joe's.)

Where do you pick them up? I tried and failed a few weeks ago. I did find online but I needed them too quickly at the time.

I would like a report on this, please.
Oh, Tep, the Fiberful bars at TJs are discontinued. I think they are doing an oaty version? I haven't tried them. I need a mourning period.
Where do you pick them up?
Fancy grocery stores? I've gotten then at Andronico's and Whole Foods. Usually next to the pie crusts.

They're usually in the frozen food section of my grocery store.
You can go '70s and do this old stand-by: unwrap a hunk of cream cheese, dump a jar of chutney over it and sprinkle with diced green onions and optional crushed peanuts. Serve with crackers. Way yummier than it should be.
