Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I have no idea how to do a Good Stuff submission, either. I'm a Tumblr idiot. Though, hmmm, I bet I could get my dad to scan the original article and email it to me, or Jesse, to contrast with the NYT profile.

I'm very sorry we are sisters in ick. I'm so friggin' tired of it. After my last post last night I sat upright for a bit, enjoying the act of breathing, and then went to lie down in bed, which triggered another 2 hours of coughing. I need to see the doctor again, because it's clearly not going away on its own, and what I'm currently on isn't doing shit.

Yay spousal TheraFlu and Coke delivery! Boo spousal Tylenol consumption!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Amen,sister.

I do feel better than Saturday & Sunday, which, comparatively, is lovely.

OK, time to get a little work done, right? No rest for the wicked!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Oh, poor JZ and Strix! I hope you belles feel better ASAP.

JZ, I knew without looking that you were talking about Julia Chase-Brand. Such an awesome woman.

Wow, juliana. I had no idea she was a known pioneer (let alone a runner/biologist/late-in-life physician!). That Life article just pissed me off so deeply I had to Google her just to spite those assholes.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

JZ, I love that article you linked to. It made me a little teary eyed to read your post this morning. Much health~ma to you and Strix. It is no fun ringing in the New Year sick.

I'm having a few people over on NYD (not as many as I would have liked since everyone seems to be out of town), so I'm going to be cooking and cleaning all day today. We found out that TCG is playing First Night much earlier than we expected in the day today, which messes things up for me a bit, but he has been cleaning and organizing all morning. He thinks it is hysterical when I tell him that I think his organizing skills are so sexy.

Amby Burfoot is a friend of hers and a writer for Runner's World, so I've read a few articles with her name in it.

Our wings are not tired.

Health ~ma to JZ and Strix and any others in need.

Trying to be inspired for quick and easy NYE snacks. DH would go for bags of chips, but I need something more interesting. Oh, and champagne.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I had no plans but now am meeting some dog park people at midnight at the park. I should dig up a bottle of champagne to toast.

JZ, I had also heard of her, mostly because my roommate is a running groupie and loves reading books about the stuff (she currently has a (auto?)biography of the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, in her bag). But super awesome--you should totally scan the article and put them both up on Good Stuff.

I had not heard of her; way to flip the patriarchy the running bird, woman!

I am feeling a touch better, and the kiddo seems to sound and feel better.(Touch wood.)

Laura, are you a vegetarian? Pesctarian? What about rumaki? Or stuffed mushrooms with a dijonaisse dipping sauce?

(Am I getting my appetite back? I don't have norovirus, but seemed to be one of the "lucky" few who couldn't keep anything in their stomach. Too bad I can't wear my slinky NYE outfit, cause I've lost 6 lbs. in 4 days. Perhaps I will try a grilled cheese sandwich later: GOURMET!)
