Angel: Just admit it: you think you're gonna ride in, save the day, and sweep Buffy off her--Spike: Like you're not thinking the same thing. Angel: I'm already seeing somebody. Spike: What, dog girl?

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

eggplant pudding cake (grated eggplant, vanilla pudding mix, cake mix)

WHAT

Send a small gift and skip the shower? Is that okay?

Totally okay. I do agree with Beth that the motivation behind the invitation could well be "we'd like to see you again" rather than "we'd like you to give us a gift," but either way, you're under no obligation to go, or even to give them anything.

Glam, that portrait is amazing. Way to go, DW!

Glad you made it home, Calli!

Our holiday was great: lots of quality time with our families, a viewing of The Hobbit, plenty of good food (my god, we have so many cookies and candies left), and everyone got in some good baby snuggles. The only bummer was that Rosie came down with a bad cold, which she's now given to me. Christmas was actually the worst day of her cold -- she spent a few hours screaming -- but at least we had our parents there to take turns rocking her and trying to soothe her. Today M is keeping her at home while I'm off at work. I just hope they're not both miserable by the time I get home tonight.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Glam, that is one awesome Christmas present. I teared up a little, too, reading the whole story at your blog.

Glad to hear all the travelers made it home safe and sound. This time of year is always a little nail-bitey with uncertain weather.

IOmeN, I got a Kindle for Christmas and finally got it registered last night. I made the mistake of downloading Angry Birds at 9:30pm. Guess who was up past midnight flinging various colored birds at pigs? I foresee having to save this game for the weekends.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Rosie is such a cute baby, Kate! She always looks so happy.

Thanks, Burrell! She really is a happy, good-natured kid. She was SO enamored of my brother, which was super adorable. Any time she looked at him she'd give him this huge grin and waggle her eyebrows at him. So cute.

Lucky brother! Does he have a very expressive face with very distinct features? I notice that babies adore my sister's face, and while it is indeed a lovely face, my guess is the draw for babies isn't her beauty but rather her dark eyes and distinct brows.

Yeah, I'd say he does have a fairly distinctive face. Also, he spent much of the time making funny faces and noises for her, so I'm sure that was part of it too!

Thrive to spite them

This is the most snow I've dealt with . I finally decided to go shovel the snow from off my car and around it. Which I'm sure was hilarious for anyone watching. I fell and slipped and realized I probably should have pushed the snow off the car FIRST then shoveled the snow around it.

My landlady's ex husband is going to come and plow behind the cars so we can get out.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I actually had a pretty good xmas this year, with no epic sickness! (almost certainly because there was no travelling involved. Anytime I travel for a winter holiday I get sick, and that's no fun.) Since my regular days off right now are Mon/Tues/Wed I had a full holiday compliment of days off to hang out with friends. And since my BF and her husb did NOT have extended family in town for the first time ever since they started procreating they were very happy to have me there for the "more family" experience. PLUS I've been on 2 very sucessful dates with a guy I actually like and it turned out he had no plans at all on Tuesday so he came over also and there was eating and banagrams and awesomeness. I almost freaked out when he texted something about wrapping...and i responded something along the lines of "NO PRESENTS" and secretly freaked out that after 2 dates he was gonna try and ambush me with a gift when of course I had nothing for him but an invitation to fondue...but it turned out that someone had left a brand new Mister Potato Head toy kit at his house after a solistice ("Island of Misfit Toys" theme) party so he brought that for my friend's kids and it was a huge hit.

Ooh. That sounds fun, Erin!!

I am worried I am getting sick.

It took me almost an hour to go through all the emails I'd gotten since Thursday, and delete or file some. I haven't dealt with the ones still in my inbox that require me to DO things. But I'm contemplating a nap, because my head still freakin' hurts. Grrr.

I kinda like this working 4 hours instead of 8 and doing the bare minimum. I know I'm going to be swamped next week, but it is kinda fun for now.
