I actually had a pretty good xmas this year, with no epic sickness! (almost certainly because there was no travelling involved. Anytime I travel for a winter holiday I get sick, and that's no fun.) Since my regular days off right now are Mon/Tues/Wed I had a full holiday compliment of days off to hang out with friends. And since my BF and her husb did NOT have extended family in town for the first time ever since they started procreating they were very happy to have me there for the "more family" experience. PLUS I've been on 2 very sucessful dates with a guy I actually like and it turned out he had no plans at all on Tuesday so he came over also and there was eating and banagrams and awesomeness. I almost freaked out when he texted something about wrapping...and i responded something along the lines of "NO PRESENTS" and secretly freaked out that after 2 dates he was gonna try and ambush me with a gift when of course I had nothing for him but an invitation to fondue...but it turned out that someone had left a brand new Mister Potato Head toy kit at his house after a solistice ("Island of Misfit Toys" theme) party so he brought that for my friend's kids and it was a huge hit.

I am worried I am getting sick.

It took me almost an hour to go through all the emails I'd gotten since Thursday, and delete or file some. I haven't dealt with the ones still in my inbox that require me to DO things. But I'm contemplating a nap, because my head still freakin' hurts. Grrr.

I kinda like this working 4 hours instead of 8 and doing the bare minimum. I know I'm going to be swamped next week, but it is kinda fun for now.

Is bitches working? Where'd everyone go? I have an excuse. It was a gorgeous day here. I ran errands. And foolishly didn't eat that much, came home, had to eat quick dinner instead of what I planned cuz was fuzzy headed. Ate. Passed out for almost 3 hours. But feeling much better now. I know, must not do that. Yeah. I wasn't planning on doing so much when I went out. Was just going to feed friends cats. But it was so nice out, and I've been a hermit since house guests left, I just kept driving around getting fresh air. Who knew I could get cabin fever so quickly?

Tomorrow I make waffles.

I'm working today. I hope it'll be quiet, because I'm the only one in my division there today.

I woke up at 6:30, worked most of the day, including housework and boy-caretaking/interaction, watered my out-of-town friends 50 plants (seriously, she used to be a horticulturist) and worked some more until I fell into bed at 9 pm.

Already replied to a client and will be starting working again as soon as my 2nd cuppa joe is inhaled.

I got up late for me, but made a lovely breakfast plate of cheesy eggs, hash browns, steak, and tangerines for the birthday DH. Black coffee or me.

I am in Boston about to drive to Schenectady NY. Have seen family and got to spend the whole day yesterday with my sisters and nephews and niece. That was fun! Driving back to Brighton from Salem in the dark with some snow sprinkles was less so. (it wasn't a full on snow fall, but I was concerned about ice and slippiness and I haven't driven in winter weather for almost 3 years!)

So far things have been relatively chill, I think the key is to hang out with different family factions separately rather than in one huge dysfunctional group. Thus, the rental car roadtripping. I haven't told any friends I'm in town, because I just have so many family things to deal with and I need to focus on that. This includes Buffistas- sorry, guys!

Working half a day today. Should have been a full day, but I came in for half a day last Friday when I should have been off. It's the Acting Director and me, and I think that's all in this division.
