Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Not to make it worse but I realized today that it's past mid-December already.
In one week exactly, I will be getting drunk as hell with my family and opening presents. (We do Christmas Eve with my family -- lunch with dad, dinner with mom and stepdad -- and Christmas Day with Tim's family. Mine is the family that busts out the wine and gets loaded.)
Had lunch with co-worker and grad student today. Me, left leaning centerist. Student, mild Libertarian. Co-Worker, mainstream Libertarian. We were talking about a lot of issues, many related to the shootings on Friday. Mostly agreeing that no one solution will solve the problem, and going into the various rabbit holes of why such and such legislation wouldn't work, and why that is the way it is, and the consequences of x vs y. Yadda yadda yadda. As we were getting up to leave, the young mother in the next booth stopped us, and said (paraphrase) "I apologize for eavesdropping, and I hope your not offended. But I've been listening to a lot of what you guys have been saying, and I really wish you ran the country! I swear I wasn't intentionally eavesdropping, and I hope you're not offended".
Offended? Heck no. Are ya rich? Wanna head up our super pac?

Ack indeed.
omnis, ha!
Took long nap. Kind of feel better a little? No word yet from mechanic, which means I won't hear anything until tomorrow.
I'm feeling on the edge of a panic attack, and really just want to go fetal for the rest of the day
I read this as "go feta for the rest of the day" and thought that was an EXCELLENT therapeutic plan!
Well, now I want feta! Dammit.
How are you, Strix?
Not to make it worse but I realized today that it's past mid-December already.
I have no idea how I am supposed to pull it all together for the holiday. Ack!
Sister is at LINCOLN movie. When it ends, I pick her up, and we go to George Greek Cafe. Nom Nom!
ION- sister got me early xmas gift. Mint+ robot sweeper. Pretty cool. It killed a lot of dust bunnies under the bed. Not the most logical of patterns. Kinda wish it was remote control to program in a cleaning pattern. Aside from that, the only complaints so far, it's rather pushy with things in it's way. Shoes, digierdo, chairs. The other thing, it senses the transition t-strip between the hardwood and tile as a stair or something, so, it's basically a barrier for it. Either way, it swept up the living room and bedroom. Much easier than me with the swiffer. And pretty dang quiet.
Lots of car ~ma to you, smonster.
Good to see your pixels, Strix. Also, FYI, I didn't get that job. Which had NOTHING to do with your fabulous resume-writing skillz and much to do with, I'm now realizing, the fact that pretty much everyone I've ever known, come into contact with, or breathed the same air as applied for it, too. HOLEE SHIT. And they still haven't hired anyone, I don't think. But I did hear of one person who got a phone interview, and I didn't. Whatever.
FYI, I didn't get that job.
There was a job you applied for?!?! Dammit, so much to catch on.
I pretty much always want feta.
amyth, that sucks donkey balls. Euch. Well, you had excellent qualifications for it; now you know it was one of those 200-apps-for-a uni-job things. Which I ran into ALL THE TIME in academics. CRAY!
I am doing better now; I had crazy horrid depresso for 3 weeks, but now I'm getting out of it. Which is yay.
