omnis, I'm sorry to hear that E is ill, but I think it is wonderful and not at all surprising, that you had such an impact on his life and his family's life.

I was trying to get the rest of my Christmas shopping done tonight. I ended up getting quite a bit done before I ran out of spoons but not everything. Now I'm home and should probably figure out something for dinner.

Called her up. Talked for over a half hour. She restated much of what she said in her email. And she was greatly relieved. She was going to present to her dad what she found. But having a confirmed talk is so much better. At some point, I'm guessing a phone call with E will happen.

SJ, I hear ya on the spoons thing. I was wanting to go out shopping. Didn't. Couldn't really get the umph to hop in the shower. Just gathering spoons. Restocking. Getting ready for the coming week.

Now I gotta bake some brownies. Tomorrow is the dept holiday party. First hour is just the 9 of us. Then after that, it's a potluck with invited guests. Upto about 20 or so people. Thankfully, not at my place. I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm just always a bit anxious going into large social gatherings. Not sure why.

I just had to send a friend a "please tell your sister that I said I'm sorry" email. This is the younger sister of someone who's been my friend since kindergarten. She posted something on her facebook wall that I really disagreed with, but then I responded in a way that was pretty inappropriate. After thinking about it a bit, I realized that it was inappropriate, and went to send her a facebook message saying so, but she's unfriended me, and I can't. So, I had to send it to her sister. I feel like I'm back in middle school, sending a message through a third party, but I just wanted to let her know that I was sorry, and it was the only way I could think of to do it.

And I realize now, five minutes after sending the email, that I could have just asked for her sister's email address and then emailed her directly. Oh well.

Ack, Hil, that is awkward. Hope it turns out okay.

I finally did some Seekrit Santa crafting tonight, so yay. I opened my 2nd (and final) Hanukkah present from my parents, which was just what I wanted (probably because it's what I asked for)!! The Night Circus. Yessss...

My wee artificial tree is up on my kitchen table, and I'm putting out a few decorations here and there. I'm listening to a Pink Martini holiday cd while I catch up here.

Blergh, forgot about a funeral I was planning to attend this morning. I am SO not dressed for it, and it's work related, so I can let my colleagues represent me, I just feel stupid for forgetting.

Also got the news that my friend who got shot last year is leaving New Orleans to be with his family. My other friend who was in the car with him when it happened left New Orleans this past spring. It just makes me very sad.

In conclusions: MONDAYS.
