Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I did a little shopping today looking for some holiday wear. I now have two issues with which I need assistance.
1. The vast majority of evening shoes I saw were open toed. Here in CT, it is as cold as a witch's titty, so I cannot fathom not wearing anything on my legs in this weather. Is it acceptable to wear pantyhose or tights with open toed shoes (clearly not with reinforced toes) or do I need to cowboy up?
2. Saw two different items at different stores that had some sort of feature on the front, but a plain back (Sequined top that was plain in the back, and a skirt with a Herve Leger type bandage weave on the front, but a smooth back). Is this normal practice or was it just cheap stuff?
Sequined top that was plain in the back
I can see the logic in this, since people with long hair will get their hair tangled in the sequins on the back of a top.
I wouldn't wear stockings with open-toed shoes, but I've seen plenty of people do it. I've seen toe-less stockings, too, but I can't remember where.
You can get "sandal foot" hose. Or maybe opt for super sexy boots?
I've always thought hose and open toes looked weird, but it's absolutely "done".
Me, for the wedding I have in December, I'll be wearing granny boots, since that's the best I can do warmth wise and still be dress. And, motherfucker, I totally set myself the deadline of yesterday to finish ordering the bits I needed for it, and even though I didn't make it to bed until 1? Fail.
It's not that I need a longer attention span, it's that I need more control over what it's aimed at.
So I'm totally going to perform a couple ablutions and then knuckle down on a couple deadline.
Calli, I am attempting to be super productive for the next six hours or so; I'd totally be up for helping each other stay focused.
Sorry. I put down the compute to start operation Tree Time. It sounds like you got a lot done, though.
I trumpeted it over on facebook, but I had to say it again. My friend the acupuncturist is a frickin' genius.
I felt NOTHING. For the very first time in my entire life, I was on a dock and a boat without feeling miserable. It was absolutely amazing.
The wedding was just lovely. Plenty of tears and laughter.
The bride's mother took me aside and said, with great earnest, that the couple's success is all down to me. Not really, of course, but it was nice to hear her so happy for them. She asked me if I knew right away that they would make it. I had to be truthful. I was not sure. But, they worked hard and make quick progress.
As soon as the ceremony was over, the wife leaned over to me and said, "We'll be back in your office soon."
I'll be happy to see them.
Had a mostly nice day with Will. We hit a rough patch because I was tired and cranky. After a nap all was better. We went and watched FSU lose to UF. It was frustrating but I wasn't expecting FSU to win. FSU just doesn't play the same caliber teams as UF.
Someone on my FB was crying for Coach Fisher to be fired. Let's see 3 years as head coach and he's 10-1, 9-4, 10-2 and got FSU back in the BCS rankings. Some people are just too picky or still hurt that Bowden couldn't be a great coach forever.
I just went out for my birthday dinner with my parents and sister. That was nice -- we went to V-Note, which is one of my favorite vegan restaurants in the city, and got a whole bunch of yummy food, including chocolate fondue for dessert. (It would have been nicer if we could have just eaten the food and not analyzed all the nutritional aspects of it, but I think that getting through a meal without mentioning the word "calories" might be impossible for my family.)
bonny, that is wonderful! Man, I hope I get to try acupuncture some time.

I did! All the way through making dinner for D and myself, and then making brownies for a Saints watch party tomorrow. He's been watching the Les Miz 25th anniversary concert - he's never seen the musical, so he's prepping for the movie. Which looks AWESOME, btw, just watched the latest trailer.
Anyway, fall down go boom time now. Gonna watch some tv and snarf on brownies and ice cream. That's what I call just desserts.
