Bonny,
get the motion sickness wristbands. They work for me.

yesterday we went for a long walk - went into sf , got off on 24/mission and walked u to Powell st. didn't shop - ok DH trolled the pawn shops, but nothing was bought. DH is out on someone else's musical instument quest. and I went to the local fabric and yarn shop to get knitting needles and some yarn. We wll see if my accidental knitting lesson stuck
and if you are in IKea --look for the short cuts. W eoften go to ikea for a long walk, but when we actually buy something, we use the short cuts.
( If I can accidenty get a knitting lesson , it is quitet possible to end up in ikea accidently )

It was the first time we had ever been to an IKEA, so we wanted to see the whole damn thing. Next time, I'm sure we'll have a specific mission in mind, so we'll definitely use the shortcuts. I have my eye on bookshelves and a dresser, and possibly cabinets for the bathroom.
The brilliance of Ikea is kind of frightening. "Hi, we want to make buying lots of stuff so, so easy. Here! Have some yummy meatballs!"
And THEN they have MORE food after you check out! (Tim bought the 6-pack of cinnamon rolls to take camping this weekend. [Yes, he is camping with his kinfolk, because they are INSANE. *I* am going to have Second Thanksgiving with some friends in a little bit, because I like being warm. And eating turkey.])
I like going for a walk at Ikea - if I'm not buying , it isn't overwhealming. and It is pretty decent people watching ( who has to follow the path, who are the rebels and how long is that guy going to sit in that chair) And meatballs are important.
It is important to note that all the cats are sleeping now. Because they woke us up at 330 this morning with a deathrace. so far I have woken up one of them I will be waking up the other, just because I can . Cats, however are much better at going back to sleep
COCKLEBURRS ARE EVIL. I've spent more time picking the little fuckers off my clothes and skin than pulling up the plants. And a bunch of the hooks got left behind in my skin. Grrrr.
I consoled myself with gingersnaps and tea and chatted with my parents. Now, on to the next thing.
I feel like a heathen. I do not like Ikea's meatballs. But I do love my new tv stand and DVD shelves. They make me smile.
I did a little shopping today looking for some holiday wear. I now have two issues with which I need assistance.
1. The vast majority of evening shoes I saw were open toed. Here in CT, it is as cold as a witch's titty, so I cannot fathom not wearing anything on my legs in this weather. Is it acceptable to wear pantyhose or tights with open toed shoes (clearly not with reinforced toes) or do I need to cowboy up?
2. Saw two different items at different stores that had some sort of feature on the front, but a plain back (Sequined top that was plain in the back, and a skirt with a Herve Leger type bandage weave on the front, but a smooth back). Is this normal practice or was it just cheap stuff?
Sequined top that was plain in the back
I can see the logic in this, since people with long hair will get their hair tangled in the sequins on the back of a top.
I wouldn't wear stockings with open-toed shoes, but I've seen plenty of people do it. I've seen toe-less stockings, too, but I can't remember where.
