Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

If you don't get the absolute cheapest thing, you can get decent things at IKEA. I have pieces that have lasted several states and a decade or two.

I also have a stray piece that doesn't fit anywhere on my desk in any configuration nor could it fit in the bookcase or old entertainment center that are the same finish. I have a sneaking suspicion that, like in Jurassic Park, life finds a way. And furniture suddenly became life. It kinda freaks me out.

The Billy bookcases now have the option of glass doors. I think I might buy a couple, and then eventually add doors.

Our wings are not tired

I have quite a few of the Billy bookcases with glass doors.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I got my tree up and my boxes of decorations out. And just like that, my motivation went *poof*! I hope it comes back soon, 'cause I have people coming over to watch Two Towers this evening (LotR review as a run up to The Hobbit ), and there's a tangled mass of lights where there should be seating.

Compassionately intolerant

I've rehearsed the ceremony. I've got gold acupuncture tacks in my ears, in hopes of overcoming lifelong motion sickness (the wedding I'm officiating today is on a boat). I've got my outfit picked out and am about to get my nails done.

Actually, I'm thinking this one will be a piece of cake. (pun totally intended) The bride is a little high maintenance, but so far, has been pretty together.

Her one concern is whether or not I will need a mic. The room is supposed to be quiet (but there could be up to three other weddings going on at the same time) and there are only 60 guests. I think I can wing it.

My one concern is that my nose is a bit stuffy. It's super cold out. I had BETTER not be coming down with anything. Not only have I already been sick for a month of this fall, but I really would rather be under the weather _tomorrow_.

Wish me luck!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Good luck, bonny!

Calli, I am attempting to be super productive for the next six hours or so; I'd totally be up for helping each other stay focused.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Bonny,

get the motion sickness wristbands. They work for me.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

yesterday we went for a long walk - went into sf , got off on 24/mission and walked u to Powell st. didn't shop - ok DH trolled the pawn shops, but nothing was bought. DH is out on someone else's musical instument quest. and I went to the local fabric and yarn shop to get knitting needles and some yarn. We wll see if my accidental knitting lesson stuck

and if you are in IKea --look for the short cuts. W eoften go to ikea for a long walk, but when we actually buy something, we use the short cuts.

( If I can accidenty get a knitting lesson , it is quitet possible to end up in ikea accidently )

It was the first time we had ever been to an IKEA, so we wanted to see the whole damn thing. Next time, I'm sure we'll have a specific mission in mind, so we'll definitely use the shortcuts. I have my eye on bookshelves and a dresser, and possibly cabinets for the bathroom.

brillig

The brilliance of Ikea is kind of frightening. "Hi, we want to make buying lots of stuff so, so easy. Here! Have some yummy meatballs!"
