May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sorry to ask for advice and run, but TCG went out for our anniversary dinner tonight. It's two days early, but the restaurant isn't opened on Monday, so we have decided to celebrate our anniversary all weekend long.

sj, zulily.com won't quite let me do a direct link to one item, but if you go to their site and search for "felt trench coat," there's exactly one left.

Sadly that is one size too small. I'm checking out the rest of the site now.

Thanks, askye and Deena. I have looked at both of those, but I was looking for something with a little more structure.

Found it - [link].

Also too small, but thanks smonster. Most of the things I liked on modcloth were too small.

Thrive to spite them

I need to be talked out of contacting someone about a cat they are trying to rehome -

I don't see how that all black cat is part siamese and part maine coon.

I don't need another cat, Penny and I are fine together. Right?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Siamese marking is recessive, but a Maine Coon mix that doesn't have longer hair is unusual.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I don't need another cat, Penny and I are fine together. Right?

You've been through a lot recently. A new cat is introducing a new and potentially volatile personality to the mix. I think you and Penny deserve some time to regroup and heal.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Those crinolines look short--am I misreading that? I do love the nice trim on that one, though. Not for this outfit, but for something with plainer a topskirt, it's lovely.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Maine Coon or not, he's a beauty. Have you had part-Siamese cats before? The one Siamese trait that is absolutely not recessive is chattiness; my God, will they talk you to death. It's thoroughly charming, but also exhausting.

Also, dude. Today I am a total BOSS. Despite raging allergies, I have attained a reasonably healthily fed child, an if-not-clean-then-at-least-much cleaner kitchen, and a twice-vacuumed living room. I also put away the last of the laundry, found our digital camera, nearly totally rehabbed Matilda's revoltingly grungy lunchbox, made a trip to the recycling center, unclogged the bathtub drain, paid the bills, and, with the help of the awesome help desk lady at the craft store, mended the original zipper on a vintage dress instead of having to take it out and spend a jillion hours putting a new one in (moving-out neighbor had abandoned it because of the zipper and it's been on the mending pile for almost a year since). Dude. I did not even know it was possible to do that. THANK YOU AWESOME CRAFT STORE LADY.

Now Matilda and I are watching Betty Boop run around in a spooky proto- Forbidden Zone/Corpse Bride ghost nightclub-cave while Cab Calloway sings "Minnie the Moocher." Later I might take a hot shower, just for the pleasure of watching the water drain right out again. Today totally gets a gold star from me.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Damn, JZ, I am tired just looking at that list!

I think JZ deserves a gold star.

I'd settle for a martini (sadly, just at present a gold star is more attainable).
