Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay, Nora!!!!

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

OK, after posting, slept a bit more while listening to NPR. I don't have to be into work until 2:30, so, sleep is a good thing.

They keep talking 2016! Stop it! Please give us a break already.
NO! First there is Thanksgiving. Then there is Christmas. No pushing the holidays all together. ... Wait. That's not... eh. It works for this too.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

bt,

I actually only use Silver for the Presidential race because I was pretty pleased with him in 2008. I think there might be a problem with his and other models for senate and house races so if I am really interested/concerned, I go to more local sources for those races and seek out bloggers in those areas of the U.S.

The "surprising" Harry Reid win in NV 2 years ago always sits in the back of mind: polls are really great often (and they were certainly so this time around), but there are some problems sometimes with polling and certain demographic groups - which at present tends to benefit my political leanings, but may not in the future.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hivemind, I'm looking for Christmas gift ideas for my niece. She currently has more clothes, cute socks, etc than she will ever get around to wearing, so her mom suggested toys, which she doesn't have a lot of yet. I already picked up an adorable wooden block set with her name on the box, but I'm looking for other good first toy ideas. Ideally something she can start playing with a 6 months old or so.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Sigh. Went to FB for the first time in a week or so last night. I'm VERY disappointed in a few of my friends for stuff they posted. Maybe another week...

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

This seems to be very popular with parents and babies I know: [link]

Our wings are not tired.

Epic's pick is classic. ETA: the giraffe teether is cool!

I don't know what your budget is, but I always like to give those very soft foamy large letters/numbers interlocking "floor tiles". I figure they do triple duty as toy, soft place to play on, and learning tool.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

sj, what about those soft books, that start babies off being read to/playing with books, etc., and looking at pix, but that if they decide to gnaw on them (as babies do) they won't hurt their mouths?

Books featuring letters of the alpha or animals are good.

(I know you're all shocked I came up with the booky suggestion...I ALWAYS gets books for new parent friends, as they are usually inundated with cute baby clothes.)

LOVE that giraffe teether. I have friends with a running giraffe theme (dating back to when husband/father was 5). Their current little one's a little too old for it, but I know they're hoping to try for another soon. Guess I've got my 1st baby shower gift picked out!
