I had potato leek soup and fresh beets for dinner. And Halloween candy.
Guys, Sammy and I are the guests at a fundraiser tomorrow for our community health clinics. Basically, I thanked them for treating us decently and because I'm an educated white mom of a cute baby who temporarily got Medicaid, they want to highlight our story. I'm doing it because I was inspired by vwbug's willingness to talk about mental health and disability but I'm still nervous.
I'm certain it's only the tiniest fraction of your situation but I know how much it can hurt when it seems other people are getting something you also so desperately want to have and enjoy for yourself while still being happy for them. It must be really difficult when it's people having babies when you want (and would be so wonderful with) children. Enjoy the red wine and I hope you can't enjoy much of it soon.
Can't say it better than Cass did.
You can do it, Stephanie! That's awesome.
At D's, watching the Saints game. We had rotisserie chicken and baked yams for dinner, so kind of healthy? But there's totally Ben and Jerry's in the freezer.
Go you, Stephanie! That's great.
And sj, I've been in that place before and it's hard.
Dinner was one of our standards, homemade pizza made from TJs whole wheat pizza dough. Not healthy, but healthier than most pizza. I like mine sauceless so I made it with asparagus, mushrooms, garlic, feta, olive oil, and parm. It was tasty.
Adding my voice to the "What Cass said, every word of it" chorus. {{{sj}}}
Thanks, Burrell, and that sounds like a healthy dinner to me.
I was just talking to my BFF who has been getting migraines but can't take migraine meds because of the stroke she had years ago. Her doctor's advice was to meditate and relax because she is so stressed out (which is true). I have also been told to relax and not stress about getting pregnant. We both decided that anyone that tells either of us not to be stressed doesn't know us very well.
ETA: T has also been getting nerve blocks for the migraines, so her doc isn't completely useless.

Ha. Right there with you. D just looked at me, muted the game, and said, "Are you okay? You seem a little stressed." Hi, always stressed.
The game's going suspiciously well, though.
Okay, clearly I just cursed the Saints.
