Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'm certain it's only the tiniest fraction of your situation but I know how much it can hurt when it seems other people are getting something you also so desperately want to have and enjoy for yourself while still being happy for them. It must be really difficult when it's people having babies when you want (and would be so wonderful with) children. Enjoy the red wine and I hope you can't enjoy much of it soon.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I feel your pain, Zenkitty. I've been shopping for jeans for months. My current attempt is the $120 ones from Zappos. I do not normally pay that much for jeans, but I want a goddamn pair of pants.

Very well said.

Cass, I hope your body cooperates and/or feels much better soon.

That is a good way of putting it. It also messes with my head a bit because it plays into the "you don't deserve this; you were never supposed to have this" disability thing that I try so hard not to let my brain go to. I hope you're feeling better soon.

We're having cheesy polenta with roasted root veggies for dinner. So yummy!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

sj, I hope you get what you want soon.

Scrappy, I like Duluth, but only one of their pants comes in a size over 18. I wanted Jag Jeans because they have a wide elastic waistband but still look like real jeans. But no, they only go up to size 16.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I love when I make things that are healthy and tasty. I have eaten and drunk very badly for the last few days, so I came home and chopped some cabbage, bell pepper, parsley and radishes, then whipped up a dressing with greek yogurt, fat free half and half, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, and tossed it with the veggies and some shredded rotisserie chicken. So good.

That does sound yummy, Vortex. I can't say my meal was healthy (there is a lot of butter, cheese, and cream in the polenta), but at least I made something from scratch tonight, which I haven't done in ages. And there was veg involved.

Ha! I had to comment because it's so rare that my food is healthy. Last night, I made a sauce with bacon, tomatoes, and alfredo sauce, then mixed in a bunch of parm. I put it in a baking dish and slathered shredded mozz on top and baked it. It was gooooood. But not healthy.

Trust my rage

I had potato leek soup and fresh beets for dinner. And Halloween candy.

Guys, Sammy and I are the guests at a fundraiser tomorrow for our community health clinics. Basically, I thanked them for treating us decently and because I'm an educated white mom of a cute baby who temporarily got Medicaid, they want to highlight our story. I'm doing it because I was inspired by vwbug's willingness to talk about mental health and disability but I'm still nervous.

Can't say it better than Cass did.

You can do it, Stephanie! That's awesome.

At D's, watching the Saints game. We had rotisserie chicken and baked yams for dinner, so kind of healthy? But there's totally Ben and Jerry's in the freezer.
