Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yep, I’ve used Vicks, but STB works better for me. Could be just my associations with it, but like you said:
I don't know if it's the fumes, or the relaxation of the muscles cramped from coughing with the grease and the rubbing, but the relief is real.
I love the little blurb on the site about it:
Since 1874 Lee's Save the Baby has been relieving coughs in children and adults so they can sleep through the night or make it through the day without hacking. Just rub this old-time salve onto your chest and it reduces the impulse to cough, which helps you sleep. The formula has not changed much, and this remedy containing petrolatum, camphor, oregano, rosemary, and balsam oils is still as effective as ever.
My gram is old school New England (Maine, actually), and her mom used it when she was a child--1913!
I'm sorry sj , but so glad other people linked to rose rustling.
yay for you, erin!
meara, sounds lie doctor time .
Flylady - yrs ago I read her stuff, but didn't sign up for it. However, I realized today that one of the things she said - I can do anything for 15 minutes - stuck with me. that is how I approach really big task -- 15 minutes at a time
somehow my sign up didn't go through yesterday , but it did today. We shall see how it goes.
So I'm part way done with cleaning my sink for Fly Lady. I scrubbed it before I bleached it (you're supposed to soak it in water and bleach first) but I'm going to scrub it again, rinse well and Windex it.
There was a little ring of small gunky stuff after I drained the sink.
I still need to finish washing some dishes and put everything away.
The shoes I wear the most and the jackets I use the most go by the door. There's hooks for the jackets and I just line the shoes up.
I don't know what's going on with me but for the past few days I've been ravenous almost non stop and nothing I eat seems to make a difference. I ate dinner and I should be full, instead I feel like I haven't eaten all day. I went to bed feeling hungry even though I ate what should have been enough.
I got a resume done today, a book review, fed sick husband lunch and dinner, squeed for a hour to friends and family, decided Jim Caviel is more wooden than a good cigar after watching 20 minutes of Person of Interest.
Things I didn't get done: Working on second resume, working on other freelance gig, dishwashing, sink shining or bra putting on. I will do all put possibly the last tomorrow.
I did get my second set (!) of business cars in the mail today, with a little tweakage, a nicer car stock with a glossy front and plain back for writing. They look so much better, for only $5 more!
And I totally fit into size 12 pants, and my 14s are loose. I am filled with a profound overall sense of things are finally going right -- this is added to by, but not the sum result of, pant size shift.
askye, it occurs to me this is your first winter in Maine after living in FL; it could be totally biological EAT ALL THE THINGS FOR WINTER.
And thank you, thank you!

It's your first winter in a cold season climate! Your body wants to bulk up against the cold.
Got done today: a work project turned into the printer early (I will probably need to monitor proofs while overseas), got Tom his funeral clothes, put together my awesome trip book (with master itinerary, maps, and reservation confirmations), cooked dinner, bought and mailed a birthday card for my niece, rescheduled my doctor's appointment, called in a couple prescriptions, and clipped Marley's front claws.
Didn't get done: A grant database search class (on a specific database), going to a play I had free tickets for, returning a pair of shoes to Lands End/Sears, packing, giving a shit.
Things I didn't plan on doing but enjoyed: Sangria with lunch, lunch of an oyster poboy, watching How I Met Your Mother, reading this Tumblr.
But it hasn't been that cold! Not really. I've turned on the heater once. Plus I have plenty of bulk already. I guess it could be that. I need to start eating breakfast and now is the prefect time for oatmeal.
It could also be the 1/2 price Halloween candy I've been eating throwing off my blood sugar.
I need to start putting together the Thanksgiving menu.
