Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Got done today: a work project turned into the printer early (I will probably need to monitor proofs while overseas), got Tom his funeral clothes, put together my awesome trip book (with master itinerary, maps, and reservation confirmations), cooked dinner, bought and mailed a birthday card for my niece, rescheduled my doctor's appointment, called in a couple prescriptions, and clipped Marley's front claws.

Didn't get done: A grant database search class (on a specific database), going to a play I had free tickets for, returning a pair of shoes to Lands End/Sears, packing, giving a shit.

Things I didn't plan on doing but enjoyed: Sangria with lunch, lunch of an oyster poboy, watching How I Met Your Mother, reading this Tumblr.

But it hasn't been that cold! Not really. I've turned on the heater once. Plus I have plenty of bulk already. I guess it could be that. I need to start eating breakfast and now is the prefect time for oatmeal.

It could also be the 1/2 price Halloween candy I've been eating throwing off my blood sugar.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I need to start putting together the Thanksgiving menu.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

ok - someone here mentioned Speed Cleaning by Jeff Campbell - It was interesting. Set my back up by saying - this is the way - but it was written in 1991. Some of it is great , but some of it would hurt my lungs. and it was written before magic erasers.

so it was interesting - and from a basic efficiency it works But it assumes a picked up house - I'm not eve ready to try it

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I don't know what's going on with me but for the past few days I've been ravenous almost non stop and nothing I eat seems to make a difference. I ate dinner and I should be full, instead I feel like I haven't eaten all day. I went to bed feeling hungry even though I ate what should have been enough.

That can be a symptom of untreated diabetes. If it is you might feel fatigue as well. I'd at least discuss it with a doctor by telephone. Don't mention coming in, because if you do they feel obliged to ask you come in, but just describe the symptoms and let them bring up coming in. (By discussing with a doctor, I mean of course leaving a message with their nurse, and waiting for the nurse to get back to you after discussion with the doctor.,)

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Can't sleep. Clowns will eat me. Congrats on the editing gig, Erin!

Aidan had to make his own habitat tonight, complete with dead bird and dead fish... He was very excited.

Thanksgiving dinner will be turkey, because Kara says it's not t'day without a bird (we used to eat ham, until she got old enough to have an opinion), and Aidan has ordered apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies. He doesn't care about any of the rest of it. Greg says one pie will be fine and he's won every year prior to this, but I bet he loses this year.

My mom used to do something different each year, chili, a 6 foot sub, homemade pizza, and the traditional stuff sometimes. My gran, though, turkey, gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes, homemade rolls, green bean casserole, a green salad, at least 2 things with jello in them, jellied cranberry sauce from a can, corn. For dessert: apple, cherry, lemon meringue, coconut cream, chocolate silk, pumpkin, and pecan pies, at minimum. Everything with more butter, sugar, salt and/or all of the above than any sane person would ever need.

Typo boy = I hope it's not that. Occasionally I've felt like this for a day and it's usually been after I've eaten poorly and I think my body's not getting enough fuel despite the calories. I'm going to eat really healthy tomorrow and see how it goes.

But that reminds me I need to get blood work done, including my blood sugar levels because of the Seroquel I take. I also need to get my Vitamin D checked again to see if I'm on the right track or if I need to be taking more. And get my B12 levels checked. I dont' think I've had that done and when I was back home visiting I was talking to Aunt J, who has to take B12 shots. She has permanent nerve damage in her hands because her B12 deficiency went unrecognized and untreated for so long.

I didn't realize it, but her memory problems got so bad that her doctor was going to test her for early onset Alzheimer's if her B 12 levels were normal.

Thanksgiving has always been fairly traditional in my family. Both with my dad's extended family and what we do on our own. Christmas with Mom has always been something different - one year was pizza.

This year I'll (hopefully) be working and I think I may try to figure out a Thanksgiving pizza to have with Will. He loves pizza and would eat it 3 times a day, every day (well that's what he says, I don't know if he'd actually do it)./

askye, the light changes are probably more dramatic in your new location, too. So that may be triggering the hind-brain with "eat all the things for winter" messages.
