But ... shoes live by the door. Unless it's a seasonal thing - remove the sandals to the closet and bring out the boots.

I have a canvas bin about a foot square that I keep in the front hall closet. All the shoes I wear the most frequently go in there. I come home, take my shoes off, throw them in the box where they're hidden, but handy.
