And I wonder, what possible catastrophe came crashing down from heaven and brought this dashing stranger to tears?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I have caught up on 3 days of posts. Thankfully slow days, I suppose.

No work done on the condo, work has been too absorbing. I hope to make huge headway this weekend with trim work on baseboards in the bedroom. Then start to move stuff into the bedroom. Eeep. In the meantime, another round of battle of the ants. Ugg. They are coming out of the bathroom sink and tub overflow drains. kinda strange. So, ant traps in all rooms. And orange spray in a variety of places. The tide has slowed. Hopefully tomorrow they will all be dead and gone.

in case life snatch me away from the board again and you want my two cents on anything, profile addy works best and fast if your name doesn't happen to be omnis (I know, hon. I'm sorry).
:: sigh :: It's ok. I understand. I can't help but notice, since DT is no longer The Doctor, your correspondance has dropped off. Coincidence. Eh. Probably. But fun to speculate. Glad to see your pixels here! ((( Shir )))

Eek, ants are awful, omnis. Good luck.

I went dancing and saw the ex and avoided her most of the night but eventually we chatted for a while and she assured me we are ok and her guy friends are not going to kick my ass (though they are tempted to. They all when we started seeing each other were all "you hurt her I'll kick your ass!")

My dinner was a toasted crumpet with a poached egg on top (super excited I got my new egg poaching silicon cups to work--way easier than fishing it out of the water) and another crumpet with sweet potato butter on it (it's like pumpkin butter, but on clearance at Marshall's).

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Ugh, I killed a creepy thing. Now I'm shaking off the lingering bits of creepy.

Oooh, speak to me of these?

Our wings are not tired

So. Tired.

That's all I've got. Time to crawl into bed. Tomorrow starts at 8 AM and goes until at least midnight. Rinse and repeat for Sunday.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Also, hi Shir!!!!!

Hello, beauty!

Question for Christians: Since 911, I hear a lot of country songs and fundy Christians use the term "God is Great". Certainly nothing in the sentiment that is not Christian, but I always associated the phrasing with Islam. Has this always been a common phrase among Christians, and I just started noticing it post 911?

I seem to remember a similar phrase in Yiddish (that I can't transcribe for the life of me, as many other idioms in Yiddish [that until three years ago I was certain they were family Gibberish, btw, and not a real language]).

Normal, yes?

I love you, and I'm not even that atheist.

Try garlic. They really do hate the smell.

OH IF ONLY.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Dear god, I could never take a kid for shots. I can't even be in the same room when Frankie gets his nails trimmed.

Oooh, speak to me of these. I want to start having more poached eggs, but they feel like a lot of work to me.

Dear sinus/muscle-tension headache, bugger off. I have a bunch of dayjob work to do today before going to a photo shoot.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I saw them at the Kitchen Lady's store. (I have no idea what the name of the store actually is, we just call her the Kitchen Lady and the store her store.) I think I'd like to try them, because my new way of eating involves a lot of eggs. So far, I have scrambled down pat, and can do a passable over easy. Yesterday I ventured hard boiled and was moderately successful, and enjoyed the resulting egg salad muchly. But I think poached would be a much better morning choice for me if I could master it.

Oh, whoops, just answered in Natter--

They are fabulous, I'm super excited. I had a microwave egg poacher, but could never get it to be just right. These are little silicone bendy bowls, and you put the egg in it, drop it in the hot water, and cover the pot (steam is part of the requirement), and then it's much neater than dropping the egg in the water and fishing it out. Nom.

How do you do over easy? I can't figure that one out.
