She actually stopped four shots on goal as the goalie, charging the ball aggressively. Which was markedly better than two of our goalies who stood passively in the center of the net and watched the ball shoot past them.
Fuck yeah, Matilda!! I played goalie for years, and that's probably the hardest and one of the most important things to learn to do as a goalie.
India was a darling little fussy squirmy lump, and then a darling little passed out lump. I can't really take credit, she was hypnotized and lulled by the blinky lights of KR's patio umbrella.
Nora, post-productivity slothful was is the BEST.
Speaking of sports, D and I just got back from watching rugby. My friend/coworker E was such a badass, but I knew that already. NOLA team dominated, totally. I don think the other team even scored. I spent some time talking to D and his teammates, and some explaining the game to E's gf.
Unfortunately, just after the game ended, I managed to stand in a fucking fire ant nest and get a shitton of bites. I'm allergic to fire ants, you may recall. So I popped a benedryl and fought a panic attack as I rushed back to my house to soak my feet in hot water (which with any luck will kill the poison). Now I'm in that shaky, slightly nauseated phase that follows an adrenaline dump.
I really need to go back and finish up my side job, but 1) don't wanna and 2) the paranoid part of me is convinced that I'll have a delayed allergic reaction in the empty warehouse and die of anaphylactic shock.
I have slothed like the slothiest sloth that ever lived today. The DH got up early to go to Jay Leno's garage to photograph him and his Bugatti. Reported Jay was actually nice, the car collection was mind=blowing and Michael Strahan (who dropped by to see the garage) was way cool and the most fit guy he "has ever seen." Then we went out to brunch. Now, we are trying to catch up on TV I missed while at my mom's last week. I had a delicious pear cider and that was a VERY GOOD IDEA. I figure the energy I expended trying to keep it together while dealing with my mom's health just tired me the fuck out, and regrouping today is needed.
Oh noes, fire ants!?!? In the rain even? Hope you are ok.

Yikes! The absolute bane of my South Florida childhood. Fire ants! Also, to a lesser degree: Carpenter ants, Horseflies and chiggers.

Yes, in the rain. I hate those evil little fuckers. I just counted - eighteen bites total, give or take. I feel less silly about having a panic attack. Last time I got an allergy test done, about a dozen years ago, I reacted on the scratch test. Once I got five bites as a kid, couldn't walk for days and nearly ended up in the ER.
But hey - I did have my Epipen on me today, if I had needed it. The hot water definitely helped, need to do it at least one more time. And I'll keep taking Benedryl for the next day or so.

I would totally go if I didn't have to pay to get in. Because (1) I don't want them to have any of my money, and (2) I would get thrown out for laughing, which would be a waste of my money. (Seriously, y'all, this is a for-real billboard for the Creation Museum: [link] Now, the museum is supposed to be based on the Bible, right? I don't remember there being DRAGONS IN THE BIBLE. I eagerly await the unicorn billboards.)
(Shit, if they start pimping out unicorns, I might have to cough up the dough and go see it.)
Congrats, GC!!
I am having bean-and-cheese-and-onion enchiladas for dinner! I made them myself! Okay, my mom made the enchilada sauce. And gave me the tortillas and cheese. And dehydrated beans. But I bought the onion and chopped it! I don't know, it's nice to be eating a dinner where none of the components were frozen.

I would give a LOT to see his garage. He has, hands down, the most interesting collection. And he loves them.

I want to have a smartass comment but it's just ... really?
I don't know, it's nice to be eating a dinner where none of the components were frozen.
Yes. Though I am currently stocking my freezer with usable portions of things. I figured if it's something I cooked, it doesn't really count as "frozen" in a derogatory way.
I made green curry chicken and zucchini over rice for Mom tonight. So I froze extra rice and the surprisingly extra zucchini (because I bought nearly three pounds) went in there too. The green curry was shockingly delicious. I made that! With science. And coconut milk.
The best part is that the person that posted about the creation museum lives in San Diego, so he travelled to be there.
