The only appropriate response is "The things you are saying are BAT. SHIT. CRAZY. Also, socialism? That word does not mean what you think it means."
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
This broken computer thing is one thing too many. I can't handle this. I feel like this is the thing that's going to push me over the edge.

I don't blame you, Sean, you have some Job-like stuff going on. I'm so terribly sorry.
I repeat, don't feed the energy creature.
Yes, I have seriously backed off from responding to or posting political stuff. I did unfriend a couple people and purposely don't friend people I know that will makes me crazy. It is just too upsetting for me.
I will confess that I fantasize on occasion that some certain people suffer as profoundly as I did after the elections of 2000 and 2004. I'm planning a party election night to last however long it takes. Partly because my sons both get to vote for the first time this year. And it Will Be A Celebration! My state has Obama up by 7 points which I am allowing myself to feel encouraged about. Our ballots are once again a horror. Yes, I know. There are 11 state amendments to consider as well as all the other elections so the ballot is 10 pages or so. I may have to consider early voting although I enjoy the ritual of going on election day.
Fortunately the majority of Republicans in my life are reasonable intelligent people that can discuss issues without being crazy. We agree to disagree on actual issues. There is no talking to the birthers or bigots.

Skippy girl here. Trying to catch up on recent posts inbetween working.
I don't argue with people who are saying stupid shit. It's a policy that has served me well. It takes way too much fucking work to line up your cites and research and make a cogent argument and remain cool and level headed, when they're the kind of people who believe any old bullshit anyway.
There have always been crazies who believed in plots by the Trilateral Commission, Masons, the UN, Jews and, these days, Muslims. I sometimes think that none of the people who believe these things could have worked for a large organization or organized a large event. If they had, they would know that no large organization can keep a secret and someone would notice the preparations for black helicopters from the UN or the building of death camps. What's different is the number of people of seem to be genuinely frightened of such things. I can't help but think that this is because the election of Obama makes these people realize that the world has changed in ways that make them feel helpless and afraid.
Well, the Windows Vista install I had on this machine seems to be working much better than the MacOS install. At least for now.
Sean do you need help doing a clean reinstall of the OS?
Maybe. I've been bad about backup, so I'll need to try and pull some documents off it if I can, before I do that. My worry is that the drop damage some critical sector of the hard drive, but I guess if it's just the hard drive, it's not that bad.
