Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I have no idea what a sump pump actually is, but sounds expensive. Good luck, sj.

Ginger, geez! What a pain in the rear. The police report thing seems like the general stupid cost cutting all municipalities have been doing. "you can have all the records you are legally entitled to, but we will charge $8 a page!"

I am hanging out at the airport lounge. I did the one urgent piece of work and am sticking fingers in my ears and shouting "lalalala" to avoid all the rest of it. Though I did just get a recruiter email about a local job...it's a step up, so they probably wouldn't hire me, but it's worth a shot.

It pumps water out of the basement, which can be important when you get a foot of snow in the winter and then it melts all at once. We got an informal quote of $300 to install a new one, but I think that may have been on the low side. We'll call our plumber for a formal quote when we get serious. We could afford it now if we really needed too, but it would be easier after the holidays.

I killed the thread already.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

A student somehow ended up with an answer of "x=3" on a problem that didn't have an x.

But everyone knows it's "x=8". (Yes, that's how I got a passing grade in algebra.)

Poor Nora and Tom!

Ginger, I want the universe to treat you better.

Hugs to everyone! (Before I run back into work deadline, that is.)

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Oh no, sj, I know of the sump pump! But I have only been a renter. So it is not my problem. But it's pretty much one of the top 5 conversations here in Maine.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Man, Ginger, what the hell.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Skipping 4500+ posts.

(I'm really behind.)

Glad to see everyone made it safely.

Am cooking apple turnovers.

Well, turnover.

The size of four.

I had too much insides.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I need to pack my suitcase for going to NJ for Rosh Hashanah. After the day I've had (about six hours of grading, plus scrambling to try to find people to cover my classes next week), I don't think I have the mental energy to figure out what I need to pack.

And I keep thinking about noodles, because I'd planned to get Thai food for lunch, but couldn't because I had too much work to do and the Thai place was too far away, and now my brain seems to be fixating on those noodles.
