I need to pack my suitcase for going to NJ for Rosh Hashanah. After the day I've had (about six hours of grading, plus scrambling to try to find people to cover my classes next week), I don't think I have the mental energy to figure out what I need to pack.

And I keep thinking about noodles, because I'd planned to get Thai food for lunch, but couldn't because I had too much work to do and the Thai place was too far away, and now my brain seems to be fixating on those noodles.

I am getting a cold. I feel like shit. One of the few things I miss from office work is PTO. Of course, we're scrambling to finish a project, so I'd probably have to work sick anyway. So I am working tomorrow - these Fridays off are kind of mythical, really. But hey - money.

Dinner is French toast and bacon and decaf coffee, total comfort food. Then a hot toddy, I think, if I can stay awake that long. I am slumping farther and farther down over the keyboard by the minute.

I am in an astonishing amount of lower back pain. Nothing and no position is comfortable. It's been like this for three days. I am becoming concerned that it is perhaps more serious than muscle strain.
